Please take note of the following correction: My reliable source has revealed
to me that Bubby will not be going to the Colts. Instead, he is going to the
Eagles for Jim McMahon and safety Andre Waters. Expect the deal to be
completed over the weekend. Bubby was complaining about not starting in
Pittsburgh, he'll never see the light of day in Philly.

This doesn't seem possible! Trading such a no-talent QB for
two proven NFL players! This seems like an impossibly stupid trade
from both sides:
Philadelphea needs someone reliable and proven to back up
Cunningham, that much was proven last year. What do they want
Brister for? From what I saw, he didn't prove himself with the
Steelers. And even if THAT made sense, why give up TWO proven veteran
players for anything less than a top rated player?
Pittsburgh needs anything but an old QB with only a couple
years of life left in him. McMahon is tough, but not tough enough to
stand for a whole year behind Pittsburgh's Offensive Line. Who was
Brister's backup? What could these two teams be thinking?

Gimme a break ! Did you really think the original posting was serious ?

BTW , I heard Bubby Brister was being traded for Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas!

Eagles and Colts. 1 is a consistent winner the other a consistent loser.
How do you get the two mixed up??? Well that's immaterial. I still think it
would be a sorry trade and the neither team would benfit all that much.
Pitt can't get a good starter out of the deal cus McMahon gets an injury every
other down, plus I thought that the secondary was the strong point of the
steelers D when they were ranked #1 over-all in D in '90, so why would they
want a S that hits late and dirty to attract fines/suspensions/and flags?
especially since Pitt does not strive for the Bad boy look like Philly does, or
at least did under Ryan. Plus Philly gets a back-up that really sux rocks.
Why would you do it if you were either team? I would look for Simms if I were
philly, or maybe steal DeBerg from the Bucs. If the trade is true, it is a bad
idea and does not benfit the Steelers at all and benefits Philly only a little.

McMahon is tough? Mentally maybe but the guy is such a little wimp! He
got hurt this season by running out of bounds. The D Line was barred from
sneezing during practices for fear the they might hurt McMahon (ok bad joke
but live with it)
McMahon is the biggesdt wimp in football (possible exception of *your least
favorite player's name that spends alot of time on IR*)

I prefer to think of McMahon as the original glass, tough guy. While
his attitude is that of the world's biggest stud, he has to wear a
"Fragile, don't jostle" sticker on his uniform. Interesting paradox.
Also interesting is the other stud that fits this mold, The Boz.
How many games did he play? 6?

> What do you mean 'a no talented QB?' Bubby has always been very inconsistant
but at times has been a great quarterback. Though I agree this would be a
stupid trade for Pittsburgh. They have Neil O'Donnell anyway, who has a big
future
