The fellow's name is Mike Frier... I think. Thank goodness the
Boregonian thinks we Portlanders are oh so very interested in the
'Squawks.

In this order: M Faulk, E Smith, B Sanders, C Warren, N Means.

Warren is fine and has a cushy schedule.

maybe: E Smith (offensive line?), M Faulk....

Chris Warren is clear of charges in the wreck that paralyzed a fellow
teammate ( a third string Def. lineman, but a human being none-the-less ).
Can't seem to remember his name.

Warren's immediate back up RB, a second year back named Lamar Smith admitted
that he was driving the car. There was some confusion over who the
driver was. Alcohol was, of course, involved.

The charges against Smith are suspended until after the season.

The saddest part was that none of the Seattle Sea-chums bothered to visit
the poor soul in the hospital.

If you league's teams can protect 3 players, who in the heck did the
teams protect that threw Sanders and Faulk back in the draft?

Mike Frier was his name, also played in Cincinatti. (Haven't seen our
friend who thinks Brian Blades was so horribly wronged on this newsgroups
express one iota of concern about him, have we? )

I forgot to mention that in addition to only being able to keep 3 guys, a
player can only be protected for 2 years. Barry Sanders (and Steve Young
too) are coming free because they have been protected for the last two
years. I am the poor sap that has to give up Faulk. I drafted him early
last year and took some shit for it. I just tilted back my Pete's Wicked
Ale and laughed on week 1 of the season. Faulk was solid the whole first
half of the season for me. He tailed off a bit in the second half, but
Emmitt, Favre, and Pickens lead me to nine straight wins to end the
season at 13-3 just nipping the second place team at 12-4. What makes
this even better is that the guy that finished second waived Pickens in
mid season just before Jeff Blake came out of the Cincinatti closet. I
picked him up in a heart beat and the rest is sweet irony.

Although I believe Faulk will have a better year this year, there's no
way in hell that I am going to keep him instead of Emmitt. That would be
cause me to be taken out and beaten for stupidity on draft night, by
everyone except the guy drafting second (since we all know Young goes
number one to last years bottom finisher).
