Congrats. Seems to be a rare thing these days. And mia was only in elementary school when you started (and I was only about to enter high school).

Congrats - that's impressive.

Cheers.

Congrats! That does not happen too often anymore. Is it an electric utility?

Two more months would've made 18 contiguous years at my current employer
had I not been laid off for 7.5 months in 2014. Still burns me because
at the time they told me the work I was doing would no longer exist. It
never did go away and I'm still doing that same work now.

That's a good thing.

But I worked at a company where my 35 years was junior to a lot of
people. If I had worked 6 more years (until I was 65) several were
there longer than 41.

I was in the Naval Reserve for 33 years - 10 on non-pay because I was
too senior for a pay billet. But I wanted to be at the training center
longer than anyone else (I was by about 2 months).

I admire 30 years of loyalty but I am not impressed.

Congrats, and lots of companies wish they could find such devoted employees.

I'm at 21 years of self-employment. I'm pretty sure I could go back if I had to, but would more likely find another self employment opportunity first.
