I pretty much quit watching after Richard Petty retired. The decision
by Chrysler to withdraw put the nail in the coffin.

This should be past tense.

NASCAR is bad. Local racing is chock fulla dollars. You see guys on Saturday night with two car haulers.

Too bad.

There's always LeMons.

Heresy! Chevettes are for ice racing!

For LeMons you use a really old beat up BMW 3 series or NA Miata.

That guy was entirely too patient with the second place #54 who kept coming down on his inside line.

Besides,these are my people.

I more or less stopped watching when Bill Elliott stopped driving full-time. I started again when his kid got a ride. but Jeebus the racing--the whole environment--sucks.

...I haven't watched an entire race since Earnhart (#3) hit the wall @ Daytona.

This stopping the race is BS ...somebody's idea of "end of the first qtr". Sponsor driven (pun intended) no doubt.

Have you seen the story of the 1979 Daytona race? It was the first flag to flag coverage of a NASCAR race. The logistics were daunting to say the least.

I remember watching it. Helluva race.

Yep. Great story. Great race. Half the nation watching due to being snowed in. Cale Yarborough vs. the Allisons fisticuffs.

I could tell that was awesome just from the title.
