Of all people, Ocasio-Cortez would not complain if she gets a primary challenger, her spokesman said.

“We believe in primaries as an idea. We’re not upset by the idea of being primaried. We are not going to go out there being anti-primary — they are good for party,” said Corbin Trent, a campaign spokesman for Ocasio-Cortez and a co-founder of Justice Democrats.

“If voters in the district feel that they can be better represented, that will be their choice on primary day,” he continued.

And then on twitter she said this about a line from the article:

"You've got councilpeople who've been waiting 20 yrs for that seat.”

That broken mentality, that public office is something you wait in line for, instead of earning through hard organizing, is exactly what voters want to change.

Shows you how disconnected some folks here are.

You can think she's economically wrong or her whole platform is terrible. But if you love democracy, you have to give her mad respect for these views.

Prima facie, yeah you’re right and I like that stance. Could be that she couldn’t have imagined in her wildest dreams being seated as a Congressman. That was Trump’s stance, as well. In any case, she’s set for life and will never have to buy a drink or dime bag ever again.

In general I like her effort. But her economic policy ideas are ridiculously ignorant.

I’m still amazed that people think socialism is better than capitalism.

Mrs. Cortez saves her complaining for everything else.

It's easier to dance when someone is pulling their strings. Legislated
equality is the only chance for many of them who can't compete on
equal terms.

I'm still amazed that people think it's a binary option.

I’m still amazed people assume anyone said binary.

The way the D's and R's have structured things a 3rd party elected
official is at a huge disadvantage. Especially at the executive level,
e.g. Jesse Ventura.

It seems binary to me, you compared two different choices. Replace Socialism with A and Capitalism with B. The operation was not specified but it seems suggest of an exclusive or. A xor B.
