How about that Eastern Intercollegiate Conference (Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown, Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Temple)? All the teams were between 6-4 and 4-6 in conference.

Looks like somebody made a mistake in that Wikipedia article. In fact, it was Ohio State that won the first round game (source: CBS sports)
