Gawd the "pretending theoretical access to healthcare many can't afford means actual access" argument sucks...

Outside of serving the "gotcha points" role, it's just so empty and meaningless and never actually addresses the point being made, while also indicating that the responder knows exactly what the actual point being made is and chooses to be #endlesslypedantic deliberately.

Cheers.

if you define "banning" as "the insurance companies can decide whether they want you on their rolls" then maybe. But that is saying that health insurance equals health care, which isn't true. Even if the companies don't want to insure you, you can still get health care if you pay for it yourself, thus you're not "banned". However the millions referred to are people who will be turned down by insurance companies and who cannot afford to pay for that health care.

I am so pleased that no school I, or anyone in my family, ever
attended had to lower their standards so much as to employ a meat head
like you.

Colbert misspoke when he said Trump, he meant you.

OTOH I would have enjoyed attending a school where you taught when I
was a few years younger - we would have fought.

So may socialists assume people can't be treated without insurance. It
wasn't that way before government socialism crapped in.

Before the liberals Colbert mentioned everyone received healthcare
including black people in the South. I've seen the scars on more than
a score of blacks from razor cuts that were treated.

Many doctors were paid cash, or vegetables or thank yous before the
government stepped in. Many country doctors could have run a Farmer's
Maket as a sideline.

Now my regular physician was unpaid $80,000 last year due to
bankruptcies. He didn't vegetables or thank yous either.

Before the government took charge, you could have received treatment
for any health problem not involving vanity. Entitlrment was not
questioned before government regulations.

You might not have been treated by the same people, or in the same
facility, as those who could pay.

>Where is the lie? It was enacted in 1986 under Reagan.

Everyone has always had access to healthcare since the 40s at least to
my personal knowledge. You might think that black people in the South
did not - BUT THEY DID. They might get cut up on Saturday night but
they got treatment. I don't know exactly where they went but I still
don't see any in doctor's offices now - what has changed?

Go back to 1900 and people often medicated themselves because there
was no doctor or hospital near their rural community. But people can
still point out where the old doctorr's house was and he made house
calls - even in my youth.

Now if you want opiods go to different doctors and get hooked with
multiple prescriptions. I threw more than half my hydrocodone away
after bypass surgery because I was scared of it. It was better to hurt
just a little. I used to think everybody did that.

Health care was affordable in the 40s - you paid with vegetables if
you didn't have cash. If you had neither you still got treated.
Doctors offices were a doctor and a nurse. Now they are a doctor, nurse
and about 5 people to do government paper work.

Doctors are shortening their work week, limiting new patients
especially government insured and forming groups in the large cities
for a regular monthly fee to make house calls 24/7/365. You pay cash
up front and file personally if you have insurance.

The problem with so many people now is they think they invented the
wheel when all they are doing is trying to find a better shape than
round.

Those were the good old days - the problem is that people can't handle
them anymore. People like me have raised the screwup generation.

Why is it a lie? I have called him a liar about his military service
and he has yet to prove he isn't. I don't think he can run far enough
to hide.

I appreciate you asking in such a non-confrontational way that I could
respond without overly abusing anyone.
