or eventually accept a job where 4-5 months out of the year(the fall
and winter) I live there......

it's no great secret that I am of fan of playing football games. It's
also no secret that I'm very good at it.

but the difficulties in living 3000 miles from LV continue to
increase. Now my bank is having problems accepting a deposit into one
of my accounts....which means that I'll now have to pay even more
money to have checks cut and mailed. If it's not my bank causing
problems(either with deposits or trying to deposit money at online
sites), it's the sites themselves. I only play sites of the highest
reputation(like 5dimes) and I've always been paid, but the increasing
fees and hassle on both ends are becoming just too much. The closing
of bodog was another major blow to ease of transactions(and no, bovada
is not the same thing in practical terms)

Im already considering 2-3 vegas trips this year. By "trip", I simply
mean booking a flight, flying into the vegas airport, and then taking
a cab straight to a sportsbook where I make a number of high stakes
plays and then fly back an hour later with tickets in hand which I can
do certified mail at a later date to redeem. But the expense of the
flight and transportation cuts into winnings, not to mention it's
almost a 3 hr drive to the atlanta airport. I'd waste a whole day
almost just catching flights back and forth and driving from the
airport back home.

Of course the real problem is the us govt's stance on sports
gambling. Why I can't make legal plays at a casino here only god
knows........

frustrating.

I always thought that you could place sports bets in Tunica, which would be
much closer but just checked it and was surprised to see that you can't.

Cheers.

I might want to start doing that.
How much do you wager during football season,
and how much do you take as profits from the
amount you wager? Just the two numbers.

if there was enough demand, then Casinos would have boat charters, go
out 30 miles place the bets, and return...

Unless the boat stayed out until the bet was settled, negatory.

I assume Tunica is an Indian casino?

Title 28, Section 3704(b) of the United States Code says that the
prohibitions on sports betting (besides animal racing and jai-alai)
outside of states where it was already legal applies to Indian
casinos.

Considering how many USC and UCLAoids travel to Vegas on weekends
(check out any casino's room rate list - there's a valid reason the
Friday and Saturday night rates are more expensive than the rest of
the week), you might want to think twice about that.

Hear that New Jersey is considering defying DC and allowing sports
books? The only real question is, will they accept bets on Jets and
Giants games as long as their home field is in the state? (This could
affect Super Bowl futures betting as well.)

There are plenty of perfectly easy ways for Americans to bet, still to
this day. There is exactly zero chance that there was any purpose to
Andersock's post other than to stir a few idots up about his supposed
winning at sportsbetting. Anyone who has paid even a tiny bit of
attention knows that the fool couldn't accurately predict the rising of
the sun even if he had a Farmer's Almanac tattooed to his face.

Just read the section on weather. Living in AC all the time
might be harsh. I lived in El Paso with swamp coolers and
it was heaven on Earth. Sit inside. Get up. Go outside.
Walk around. Work. Go inside. Hot dry weather is perfectly healthy.

Actually it had an unintended positive side effect. That vegasrex
blog entry about why it sucks to live in Las Vegas was pretty good
reading on a Friday afternoon after the work is done and waiting for
the t-storms to blow through before hitting the road home.
