please dont tell me you are going to ruin your shelves when texas
kills your team.......
Funny it would be if the Men of A&M prevail!
oh jesus they are hopeless....thats not going to happen.
And....honestly...these a&m people need to really wonder whether that
"rivalry" with texas is really a rivalry.....because I work with some
UT grads, and they dont really view a&m now as a true rival.....

Get your schtick right...it's "clear the shelves." Not ruin.
Jon
same difference.......anyways, my other point was that texasa&m and
texas really dont have a rivalry anymore........
it's really become like michigan/mighigan state, georgia/georgiatech,
etc...where one team "thinks" its a rivalry and the other team is
saying "ummmm yeah, you're like out 4th biggest game most
years"........
and thats the way it is now.
>
> Jon
I just knoked all the stuf off my shelfs.
ummm.....why?
Yes, your team lost.....but they covered(even if the game wasnt as
close as the score indicates)....it wasnt all that embaressing, and
honestly you knew midway through the game it wasnt a game you could
win.....
and(and maybe this is the part that hurts worst for you guys), it's
really not a big rivalrly game anymore........
maybe when your program(one of these days) gets back to respectable
status it will be a real rivalry again, but right now texas sure as
hell doesnt consider it a rivalry of any sort.....

If you repeat your bait enough, maybe someone will bite on it.
ummmm, look at your sig
hint: you werent even that good that year, and that was over *seven*
years ago.....
it's not bait, it's the truth....texas in no way considers you guys a
peer opponent....

how do you know?
state of the programs, how the game is covered, local media, going to
blogs, etc......
georgia \ georgiatech?
Heh!
that's the most ridiculous thing you've ever said.
heh what?
Georgia tech considers the georgia game to be their "biggest" game of
the year and a huge rivalry.....georgia considers it to be anything
but. hence the comparison.
for georgia and georgia fans, georgia tech is just an also ran
game....for tech, the uga game is always the most important game of
their season.
personally, it's a garbage game to me(but then again I am a georgia
fan so dont respect the tech game). Ask a tech fan and they think
it's a bigtime game.
except for florida (and perhaps alabama), they're all garbage games.
and yet it's true........
UT's biggest game every year is in dallas....their second biggest game
every year is some combination of:
1) a bigtime ooc opponent that they occasionally have(such as osu
recently)
2) whoever happens to be having a good season the big12
texas a&M gets falls in after that........thats just the way it is.
heh what? heh HEH - hat's what!

I hope the georgia fans are looking to see where their team currently
stands in relation to Ga Tech.
you don't understand rivalry games I guess......
ummmm.....we arent as good as them this year. whats your point?
Still doesnt mean we view them as a "rival".
We've won like 6 out of the last 7(or something like that) agains
gatech. But even if they won 10 straight against us, we still
wouldn't respect them as a rival. They'd just be a team that beat us.
Likewise, if kentucky or vanderbilt or whoever beat us ten straight,
they wouldnt be a rival either......
when tech occasionally beats us(which is rare), it's no different than
when kentucky or vanderbilt beats us.
When florida beats us(which has happened damn near every year for
awhile now), that hurts.....
when auburn beats us(and fortunately we own them now), that hurts.....
but tech? Sheeesh, they arent a rival. They think they are, but they
arent.
sure I do....I've gone to several florida/georgia games....went to one
auburn/bama game.....
those teams are rivals. A&M and texas? Hmmm.....not so much.
For it to be a rivalry, both teams have to ackowledge it. Texas
doesn't think of A&M is a peer rivalry.
you think that they think that they are a rival, but they think they
think they aren't.
how do you know that Texas thinks this? Was there a manifesto from
the AD's office?
for many tech alums and season ticket holders, thats the one game of
the year(every other year) that they can actually sell their tickets
for above face value.........
again, we have to play tech because they are the other state school.
But many georgia fans would much rather get a 1 and 1 with clemson
going(who we actually did have a rivalry with at one time) than having
to keep this annual 1 and 1 against tech.......
we just dont respect tech as a program. nothing against tech. Hell
we don't respect wake forest or boston college either.
the same reason I know texas doesn't view central florida as a rival
either.....sheesh pauli, this is too easy.....
well, with Paul Johnson at the helm, I could see why there's a big
interest in worming out of those games in favor of something with
Clemson, Wake or BC.
like I said, you don't really get rivalry games. You think you do,
but it's just outside your grasp.
we would want to play clemson in a 1 and 1.......not wake or bc(who we
view as garbage programs)......
clemson is a team we used to have a big rivalry with for a whole in
the 70s/80s.....and many older fans view clemson that way.
But clemson has a rabid fan base, a great stadium, and it's just a
great college football place......(basically the opposite of tech)
Oh and clemson will probably beat tech in the acccg this year as
well.....
I sense there's some fear of Wake and BC?
and yet I continue to nail it....
rivalry games are about excitement, passion, hate, etc....and that has
to go both ways....thats why texas and OU are big rivals, why georgia
and florida are, why alabama and auburn are.....
it's also why texas and texas a&m arent, why georgia and gatech
arent. You still have a lot to learn about this.
and it's why ga
If they want to come to sanford for a 1 and done Im sure that would be
fine......from an economic standpoint though, I dont think it would be
in their best interests.......
No, your point was to try to be as much of a jerk as possible, thereby
crapping on the thread that Matthew created. You're quite broken, boy.
I've read 10 posts so far this morning, and have already read two with
you trying to be as much of a jerk as you can be in a few sentences, in
this thread and in the one where David Loewe is posting about a happy
day spent with his father.
Trolling or not, at some point you need to look into the mirror and see
if you can figure out exactly what is wrong with the scum looking back.

Lies on both ends, though it is cute how much negative energy YOU focus
on Georgia Tech in RSFC, as if it somehow raises your stature (or
Georgia's) to not really care about a rival. Too funny.
You're either a liar or more delusional than I'd thought previously.
If you consider ramming your own face into someone's fist to the point
that they need to repair broken knuckles, sure, you're nailing it.

You just plain don't get it, which is no real surprise given that the
actual soul of college football has always eluded you. What's most
pathetic about this is your utter insistence that you get it more than
anyone else, using your ignorance as evidence of supreme knowledge.
It's like a giant irony onion.
Hello, you are writing to a psychiatrist there. It goes without saying
that people that choose to shrink heads for a living are pretty screwed
up themselves. He is just the lazy version of a psychologist (listen to
them for 5 minutes, give them a drug, send them on their way).

Mia's Outback Thothouse?
you have a very limited and distorted view of psychiatry. You must
think 100% of all psychiatrists do exclusively outpatient work.
Im interested in eventually doing acute inpatient stabilization one day
(exclusively inpatient) or perhaps consult-liason or perhaps emergency
psych......
thats not to say that adult outpatient psychiatrists aren't
useful....I just don't think it's for me.

so please tell me....what is the most important game for gatech every
year?
, though it is cute how much negative energy YOU focus

they're fun to pick on....that's all.
I do sometimes, and I gotta say I like that person looking back :)
The school newspapers of the two institutions often mock their rival
institution. The Red and Black, Georgia's newspaper, usually has
several jokes and articles mocking Georgia Tech the week before the
football game. The Technique, Georgia Tech's newspaper, prints a
special edition mocking The Red and Black, and commonly refers to its
rival as "The University (sic) of Georgia."
"It¹s a big week for everybody in the state," Richt said. "We are
playing a team that has just been outstanding. It's the in-state
rival. It's Georgia Tech, so it's a game we're all going to be excited
about coaching and playing in, and I¹m sure our fans will be
excited about watching it too."
"It will brighten a lot of people up if we can get this victory,"
Georgia defensive end Justin Houston said. "Hopefully, it will change
a lot of people's minds around here and lift up a lot of our teammates
because I know that some of them are down right now."
ATHENS - If Demarcus Dobbs didn't choose Georgia, he probably would
have ended up at Georgia Tech. "If your brother doesn't like
somebody, then you're not going to like somebody, so it's just that
bond that you have with your teammates here," Dobbs said. "You see how
bad they want to beat Tech. It just came along that way. It's been
good beating them, and it hasn't been good losing to them."
yeah, why should us that generally pay little attention to southern
traditions believe the coaches and players when we have you to tell
us?
exactly my point. It's the *in state* rival. As in the only other
team in div1a in georgia.
when georgia plays florida(and to a lesser degree auburn), it's just
"the rival"....not "the instate rival".
Likewise when bama and auburn play today, thats just "a rivalry". Not
an "in state rivalry".
I'm not a southern expert. And I really don't care that much about
it. I like georgia, they've given me great memories over the years.
I only know what the coaches and players say.
> Likewise when bama and auburn play today, thats just "a rivalry". Not
> an "in state rivalry".
>
Even non-college football fans know about that game. I've never
heard anyone describe it in those terms before though.
yes, and the words seem to indicate that georgia players and coaches
don't view it anywhere close to the auburn game, let alone the florida
game.

thats because it is a true rivalry. With true rivalries, you don't
put silly qualifiers like "in state" in front of it.......like richt
had to do in selling the gatech game.
That's not my take. But again you are usually wrong about everything
so there you go.
>

So auburn would get more psyched about georgia than alabama?
gosh no....auburn/bama is each teams biggest rivalry......georgiatech
is, at best, georgia's third or so rival.....
but do georgias "big rivals" feel the same way coming back? Sounds
like a reversal of what you're claiming with the geo-gt thing.
another thing that makes games like florida and auburn bigger for
georgia than georgia tech is that very few of georgia splayers were
really deciding between ga and gatech. Except for a few rare cases,
they really dont compete for the same players. Yes gatech is happy to
pick up whatever scraps in georgia that georgia doesnt offer a
scholarship too, but thats about it.
Auburn and florida and georgia obviously battle hard with each other
in recruiting
Auburn views it the same way(ie as the #2 rival)....
Florida views us as their #1 rival, and FSU as their #2 rival...
Why not? Nebraska didn't lose money playing Wake Forest in a 1 and
1. Real programs aren't afraid to play anywhere and size of the
stadium doesn't matter. Georgia went out and played Okie State this
year and kudos to them...that's probably about as far as Georgia has
traveled for an away game in decades..at least that I can recall.
Dan
Dan
sure they did...unless you think nebraska playing wake once at
memorial and then instead of traveling to wake they played western
michigan or something in memorial the next year wouldnt be more
money.....

what is this obsession with "traveling far".....do you honestly think
florida state traveling to gainesville and playing in the swamp is an
easier road ooc game than if florida state had flown to iowa state?
With air travel what it is, travel time just doesnt really matter.....
and you're also wrong on the okstate game....hell last year georgia
traveled another 1000+ miles out west further than oklahoma......
georgia(besides gatech is usually respectable and they *always* play
them) usually has one of the harder ooc schedules.....this year
georgia probably had the most difficult schedule in the country.
>
> Dan
I'm sure a little jealousy has something to do with this attitude. Ga
Tech has 4 national championship to Georgia's two and also have won it
more recently than Georgia.
> Florida views us as their #1 rival, and FSU as their #2 rival...
Uh, no. Try more realistic bait. Anyone from
Florida knows better.
UGa is #3, maybe #4. It's not like UGa is
competitive, they're more like Miss. St. without
having to play on the road...
> Auburn and florida and georgia obviously battle hard with each other

You really are delusional if you're putting Georgia on the same level as
Alabama and Georgia in terms of attractiveness in recruiting.

I would never put Florida on the same level as Florida.
It's way too flat.
