No, it was all started by Carl Rogers spouting his "viatology" crap into US
and UK groups. He's the only one to blame. It just ballooned from there.
Since then, we have spent all our time firing insults across the Atlantic in
both directions. It's about time some of us grew up.
Do you want to spoil all the fun?
You have to grow old, but you don't have to grow up.

Your English is quite good, you're doing a very good impression of the

In an amusing way. I pointed out that Rogers is such a twit that he
probably thinks uk stands for "University of Kentucky" then a bunch of
backwoodsmen arrived with their hound dawgs, coonskin hats, Deputy Dawg
accents and horizontal teeth to tell us that the University of Kentucky
is a fine institution and no one should insult it by mentioning its
name.
Or something.

The BBC has just attempted to explain how NFL works. A bunch of teams
none of which may be relegated for poor performance. So they can sit and
rake in money by being rubbish at playing the game.
And you whine about "soccer"?
>> Dood, this is a football chatrum....it's Kensucky.
> The BBC has just attempted to explain how NFL works.
It's a bit like rugby for wimps and run by trades unions.
A metric shitload of body-padding to stop anybody hurting themselves, and
regular little sit-downs to stop them getting tired. Oh, and as well as
all those on the field, there's another thirty sat at the side ready to
come in when demarcation says that the ones on the field aren't allowed
to do that bit.
Kensucky isn't in the NFL.

Telling people to grow up is so immature.
--Tedward
When "you" is addressed in a post to me? Not at all.
plus it takes a certain amount of gumption for a second (3rd?) world
power to tell the worlds foremost superpower who we can and cannot
fire insults at.
Of course you have, and if you insist, he'll make a poast with a link in it
showing where you did. He did that with me when I challenged him on
accusing me of going on about British Teeth. I'm scared of him now. He is
the Net Cop's Net Cop.
Well that's a bunch of nonsense. American professional football is
designed around something called parity, where the draft and salary
system seeks to even the playing field across the league. Virtually
every one of the thirty two teams in teh NFL (except, of course,
Detroit) has been within sniffing distance of the championship within
the last ten years.
Oh, and the average NFL collision generates three times the Gs of a
rugby tackle. Lotsa split lips and broken noses in rugby, but guys in
American football who don't protect themselves can end up a
quadraplegic. The average NFL player has a 150% chance of being
injured seriously during their career.

That's solely because they're a bunch of fat bastards (hence the frequent
sit-downs) wearing a ton of padding.
> The average NFL player has a 150% chance of being injured seriously
> during their career.
Mmm.
Depends on how you define "serious". Study I looked at required that
the person be hospitalized, require surgery, and miss eight or more
consecutive games. Tons of players play through injury and wait until
the offseason to get that shoulder rebuilt, that tendon repaired, or
those bone chips removed.
> The average NFL player has a 150% chance of being
> injured seriously during their career.
Shame it's not death really.
I could remove some of the dullest 'tards on the face of the planet.
In America, the competitors play hard because they want to win, not
necessarily because they're slaves to the dollar (or pound in the UK).

advised to learn what they mean. Otherwise when you use them,

Indeed I can. Because I've worked in science and technology for decades
and I've worked for many of the companies involved in discovering,
inventing and producing those inventions.
> And BTW, in the rush you squeezed in "Biotechnology" - mmmmmwahahahahaha!

Indeed we did. Invented it and dominate the field to this day.
Alexander Todd of the University of Manchester was the pioneer of
oligonucleotide synthesis. And it was the Cavendish Laboratory that set
the whole field of biotechnology into motion.
Never mind, in ten years time Hollywood will make a movie showing how it
was all done by Americans and then you'll be able to relax.
