In overtime, Bryant swings elbows and hits guy in the jaw, knocking
him to the floor, no call, while another Laker gets a pass and hits a
shot.
At the other end, Turkoglu is dragged down while shooting a 3, no
call, the Lakers break out to dunk and basically seal the game.
Poor foul shooting, questionable calls toward the end of multiple
games, poor execution.
At the end of game two, not only was Bryant not called for the grab on
the cut to the basket on the final shot of regulation, but Gasol was
not called for the goaltend while grabbing the rim on the shot. Even
Jackson commented on the no-call. It's pretty f*ing sad when a coach
in the Finals starts to point out how his team has benefited by the
officials not whistling obvious calls that would have gone against his
own team.
That being said, the Magic have been completely underwhelming and the
Lakers have made it close. This is the worst Finals in a long
time ... neither team looks like a really good team.

only on rsfc can the Lakers shoot ZERO - yes, ZERO - free throws from
the end of the 3rd quarter until 3 seconds left in overtime (Orlando shot
19 in that time frame), with Orlando not getting called for a SINGLE foul
in the 4th until 1:14 left in regulation.
and someone complains about them getting favored by the refs.

Watched most of the 4th quarter and OT - ridiculous finish. How many
free throws did the Magic miss in the final two minutes - at least 4?
5? 932?
Why was Jameer Nelson on the floor? He doesn't shoot and unless he's
in the open court, he was worthless in the half court "Let Hedo
dribble the ball around for a while" offense. And his lack of foul on
Fischer was insane....
As for Dwight Howard - for someone a massive as he is, he's got a
terrible tendency to bring the ball down low after receing the pass,
which results in his getting tied up way too much. There's no way in
hell Bryant should have been able to stop him on the block - and yet
down he went.
Awful finish - Lakers won b/c they both couldn't lose - and those were
clutch shots by Fisher

And I don't understand why Orlando was pressing. That played right
into the Lakers' hands. You break it down...you create some
chaos...and boom the shot is hit.
I actually think the refs do a decent job. When the replays are
shown, they get it right a lot. But yeah, not a great Finals by any
stretch.

I think the image of the NBA as a thuggish, no skills league is about
ten years out of date. Dwight Howard needs to spend a lot of time on
his offensive game because it is a joke right now. If he had half of
Gasol's offensive skill, he'd be one of the greatest players of all
time.

this is a huge misconception....big people who have been in the nba
(basically starting the whole time) for 4-5(?) years now don't just
suddenly "develop" a low post game from "working on it".
Dwight howard's low post game is sorely lacking now, and when he's 28
it will also be lacking. The best hope is that certain obvious
improvements can be drilled into him....such as not bringing the ball
down where 6"1 guys can tie him up when he is 2 feet from the basket
after a catch......
But other than that, you just don't "develop" a quality low post
game.....if it was going to happen it would have happened by now.
Think about all the big men with real quality low post moves
throughout the history of the nba: kareem, mchale, olajuwon,
duncan.......they werent in the league 4-5 years and then suddenly
developed devastating drop steps, jump hooks, up and unders,
etc.....they just had them.
You can actually improve someones jump shot with work and effort a lot
more than you can teach them how to move in the pivot like mchale or
olajuwon.

nba. If gasol had howard's remarkable athleticism, he'd also be an
all time great player. But howard has virtually no chance of

developing howards hops.

And you know this from your experience? Guys might not be able to add
6 inches to their leap at that point, but plenty of players have
developed new skills while in the NBA. They have to, not just to
adjust to the game but as their explosiveness and speed decline. The
issue has either not been brought to his attention to get help, he's
not serious about it, or he's ignored the advice.

I don't care for the Lakers, nor for the rapist who captains them with

the referees and Stern clearly want. Teams from back when the NBA was
entertaining (Jordan's Bulls, Olajuwon's Rockets, etc) would completely
