Auburn gave its last scholarship to Karsten Bailey, a WR from Georgia,
6-2, 200, 4.4.

Aub waited so long 'cause the guy they were holding it for, T Jones from
Orlando, had a little murder charge hanging over his head. No sooner had
he been acquitted and Aub was ready to give a slot to this fine student-
athlete than he was arrested on poss of Mari. & handgun charges.

UF didn't even give this kid a visit before because of
his troubled high school career(fighting and drug dealing allegations
forced him out of two schools his senior year)
Obviously Tery & the Tigers had no such reservations.

They couldn't give it to the guy from Florida. They had reached the NCAA
limit on giving scholarships to those on probation or under suspicion for
felonies.

Greg,
You are just jealous because Auburn got to him before Alabama did...As a
matter of fact Bama might go after him, I'm sure he knows Riddle and the
rest of the criminals down in T'town...

They were just willing to give a troubled kid a chance because of his talent.
Ya never know, he might've gotten in school and done well. Obviously, he
screwed up again and never got the chance.

Undertandable. Visorboy makes enough trouble and headlines for his team
without the need of a player to help.

Well I think it was pretty darn honorable of Mr. Bowden to
withold a scholarship for such a troubled young man..he obviously felt
that he could help reform this youngster and make him into a full
functioning member of society...I think Terry should be nominated
for the Noble Peace Prize..God Bless You Terry Bowden.

Maybe your program should give frontal AND profile views of all your
players. It'll make things easier for Tuscaloosa's finest. X^p
