Surge started in 2006, 2007, 2008... eh, who cares.

Sunni (or is that Shia?) Awakening assisted by the (8 or so months in
the future) surge.

Or, maybe it was a suuuuper-sekrit mini-serge that was the help?

First major conflict after 9/11 - guess Afghanistan's jess too puny a
country to be botherin' noting.
(Wait, just realized - maybe he's of the mind that we "preventively"
went into Afghanistan b4 9/11? (Didn't work so well then, did it?)

No, biggies, these, though, huh. Much more interesting to discuss

He was assassinated last year at the height of the surge. McCain
lamented the fact then, but forgot it earlier this week, I suppose.

Well at least they are not killing each other and setting bombs off on
the mainland. I just hope the Ulster Scots accept the likely
dissolution of the UK without resorting to violence.

Ireland invaded the US. Much to the betterment of both nations I must
say.

Obama speech should a pretty weak knowledge of history. The Berlin
Airlift wasn't accomplished by the "world" but by the United States
Air Force and the RAF.
