So after hearing some rsfckers talking about it this season, I gave
the last two episodes another try. My problem with the show is Larry
David. He cant act. He's not even good at acting like real life.
He's mostly annoying, and thats his good side.
Now Cheryl Hines....wow. That is my kind of lady. I love her smile.
I could almost watch the show just for her...but not quite. I might
give some reruns a few more tries, but I'm doubtful going in.
Well, my take is LD isn't even supposed to be acting. This is filmed
almost as a reality show. Plus, he is supposed to be annoying. And
it's funny seeing him dig himself out of the situations that his
neurosis gets him in.
For example, several seasons ago he kept having run-ins with
receptionists. He would act neurotic or complain and they would get
real mad at him (one lesbian brought in her partner to physically
threaten him after he suggested their adopted Chinese infant be named
"Tang" because it sounded a little Chinese but a little like a
delicious drink.).
So after a few go-rounds with receptionists, he was at the dentist (or
doctor) and wanted to make his thoughts known about quality and age of
the magazines in the waiting area. He (in a deliberately delicate
way) says "I'd like to make an observation. Not a *complaint*, but an
*observation*."
They ended up getting very good magzines so on his next visit he made
them wait when they called his name so he could finish reading the
article on how to improve your golf swing.
You either like this stuff or you don't, and you clearly don't. So
it's back to network sitcoms (and their laff tracks) you go.

January Jones RUTSes Cheryl Hines
Its a show pretending to be a reality show. LD should still be
acting, which he is clearly not. I guess you've just got a more
refined taste I do Snorky.

Christine Hendricks >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> January Jones.
I don't disagree. But mostly he does whine, so how can that ever be
"acting"?
It's not pretending to be a reality show....it's a show about Larry
David as if it were real, but we know it's not. Reality shows are
shows with real people playing themselves usually in some type of
contest like Survivor. Larry David is playing a caricature of
himself. It's not for everyone, but I'd be lying if I didn't say that
it's my favorite show by a wide margin....and I believe one of the
funniest shows since the BBC version of The Office. I will say that
the earlier shows are a bit less over the top...there's a lot more
observational humor in the early episodes that more resemble Seinfeld.

Hmmmm....I'm not sure there's a hawter woman on the planet than
January Jones.

I'm quite certain you are mistaken, but each to his own.
