Whatever happened to the 12 game schedule? So that's 7-4 if things

optimistic prediction. The "other" possibility is some sort of 3-8

If Nebraska is good enough to get 7 wins this year, there is no way

I like 7-4, losing to SC, ASU, and 2 horrible losses (Zona?) that will
leave us scratching our heads. We'll be mired in one of those 5 team logjams
in Pac, end up in Sun Bowl, beating Wisconsin 20-17.

take 'em at home... And of course follow that game up by laying an egg in

Tough win at Stanford, followed by a tough roadie to Arizona, equals a split

Arizona State is a bit of a toss up at that point in the season... I'll give

I certainly wanted to put us down for a W against SC, but we just aren't in

are all possible stumbling blocks.
My problems are that UT hasn't played well when starting highly
ranked, the "great" secondary needs to prove it can stop, uh, anyone,

Friend, it is time to throw off our shackles of fear, and rejoice!
The Man of Great Appetitie is bringing us into a new epoch, an era in
which we shall fear no abusers of agricultural products, no
sartorially-challenged wearers of sickly-colored feline-logoed shirts,
no meteorological phenomenons, and no one named The Gary.
Yea, verily, I say unto the doubters and the unbelievers: RAWK CHAWK
BAYBEEE!!

Aren't you guys losing your entire defensive line?
You're begining to scare me....
And Wisconsin is the last Barry game at Camp Randall...doesn't that
scare anyone?? (I was Jon picked his Badgers to lose that one too...)
Chris C.
No. Illinois - Win
Notre Dame - Win
EMU - Win
@ Wisconsin - Win
@ MSU - Loss
Minnesota - Win
Penn State - Win
@ Iowa - Loss
@ NW - Win
Indiana - Win
OSU - Win
At Wisconsin is a little scary as the opening road game, but it's been
ages since we've lost a Big Ten opener...and I'm still not so sure how
good they are talent wise right now.
At MSU, well, they have to win sometime again, don't they? I mean, if
they're not pissed about last year, they'll never win again...and it's
up there.
Penn State is a little worrisome. Lord knows they're due. If they
win, I expect JoePa to retire in the press conference afterwards. But
it is at home.
At Iowa - the only team (and coach) that scares me. Unless Iowa's
personnel loses give them a major setback (and Ferentz can't pull
miracles like last year), I don't see us winning this one.
Ohio State will be tough, but they stole their one up hear already.
This is a home and home series now.
So, looking at 9-2, I'd have to say probably two of the three of Purdue
(great schedule guys), Iowa and OSU would be ahead of that in
conference, if not overall. So, as much as I'd like to squeeze out a
BCS game, and at least go to another site rather than the Rose Bowl
again (unless, of course, I'm all wet, and we CAN go to the Rose Bowl),
that says Citrus to me more. Which is actually a pretty nice
bowl....but not one you shoot for.
So, Orlando bound, and beat some SEC team there like we always do
unless it's someone who should be playing for the national championship
and has inexplicably lost the SEC championship game to some slug.

Either 9-2 or 8-3, depending on that Gopher game. I can't figger it out
yet.
It looks like you picked Mich to lose in Iowa City as well. So which of
these games besides the mighty badgers do you have a problem with. I admit
it woofingly optimistic, but thats what preseason picks are all about...see

Bad camera angles, out-of-focus shots, pixelation...
IA with your last point. We could be in for a rude awakening as each of the
last three years we have been surprised by winning with adversity. This
year too many hawks are expecting it. But we do finally have a QB to start
the season.
I did state that I thot Purdue would be a tough game. It looks to me tho
that one of the reasons Purdue is getting accolades is because of an "easy"
schedule. Ease of schedule/=quality of team. I look at Iowas schedule and
besides tOSU, Mich and perhaps Purdue, its tough to pick the game they
should win and may lose. Iowa State might be my next guess as ISU treats a
win against Iowa as a successful season. I guess my point is is we are set
up for a 10 win season far more than we have been for the past three
seasons.
Woof gawds be damned, eh?
Thanks, I needed that today.

One thing I've learned from this thread, and I'm as guilty as the next

I don't think PU is world beaters, but I don't think they're stiffs
dodging everyone either. (Although it is cute to hear their players
talk about OSU and MI not having to face them. Even though they'd both
be away games for them. It's easy to talk tough when you don't have to
face them).
Also, has Iowa won at Purdue recently? It's not an easy place to play.
If it was in Iowa City, I'd have little doubt of the outcome.
Chris C.
So, if OSU, VT, ND, Purdue, and UT all go undefeated (I read it here
first), who's in the Rose Bowl? The highest ranked of the two? ND,
because they were picked to go undefeated twice? And no one's even said
USC is going undefeated yet....
A lot of teams are going to be pissed off this year... ;-)

If ND and Purdue go undefeated, it won't matter. The Apocalypse will
be upon us (particularly since the play each other).
