Just a comment on their dishonesty and partisanship and more proof that
anything the print, especially if unflattering to someone on the right,
should be viewed with much skepticism.

They said it was nice to see candor in a Presidential candidate. That is actually a good thing. How many times have me made fun of Clinton for that stupid "didn't inhale" nonsense? Everyone liked the candor with Bush admitting his problems with alcohol and if he would have just admitted his blow usage, we'd all be understanding too.

We're long past the stage in this country in which we think that if you did a few drugs in your youth that somehow you are defective. That shipped sailed a long time ago. And this Romney thing hasn't taken off outside of the liberal echo chamber since the stereotype of the rich dirtbag teenager is so ingrained in our culture that we'd have been surprised if he had actually been a nice guy.

But carry on with the persecution complex. The last thing the right would want to be seen as is tough and resilient.

Like I keep saying, if Romney had started off with his Thursday
statement, instead of trying to lie about it first, realizing that
wasn't going to work, then owning it, we'd all be all good.

You should reread your own, darn good, post. People went after Clinton for his lack of “candor” on inhaling. It’s not the actual pot smoking that is the issue, it’s the fact that he couldn’t be honest about it. What bugs me about these stories is not that the MSM puts their thumb on the scale (5600 words for Romney’s “bully” story? FFS.) when reporting on candidates, it’s left’s lack of candor. They can’t be honest about what is happening in front of their own eyes.

Most of the stories I've seen on this is about how ham-handedly Mitt handled this, ie lack of candor.

I doubt it would have gotten another minute of attention outside of the left's echochamber if he just would have said, "Yeah, I remember that. Looking back on it, it was a really dumb thing to do, but at the time we really weren't trying to be that malicious." But it is becoming really clear that Mitt is just an animatronic robot programmed for maximum dishonesty.
