Well, I too posted that SWC had a winning record against the big-8, and I did that after I saw it in the local fishwrap (as Jim Rome calls it), Los Angeles Times... Wonder why this has been brought up by all kinds of different sources.. I guess there are closet SWC-supporters everywhere, who don't mind spreading even wrong information :-)
BTW, the channel-4 sports anchor here was going on and on and on about the Stonie Clark, Robert Reed stop at the end of the OU-TX game, and how his heart almost stopped etc... Turns out that he is a Texas-Austin graduate. Never knew that. He looked so happy to get a chance to report on a big Texas win, something he has not been able to do much lately..

IThis must be a mistake. I looked up some Big 8teams and there are at lleast 6 nonconference losses, but I could only find 2 to the SWC. What are the others? Either the Big 8 has lost more than 6 or only 2 to the SWC.

Don't sell Iowa State short...we also lost to W. Michigan, and UNI out of conference. OU lost to A$M, if you recall. Okie State lost to Baylor.
Sorry folx, you can blame the quote "SWC has winning record vs Big 8" on me. I erroneously posted this last Sunday. I miscounted and had the SWC up 6-5 when in reality it is the reverse.
Either way, it is still respectable and a huge improvement over the last few years.
Also a note of interest. Someone posted an article showing that the Big 8 had only lost 6 non-conference games, 5 of the vs the SWC. Who woulda thunk it?

I think I thought of a couple others. Didn't Iowa State lose to Northern Iowa and some MAC team like Central Michigan? And Oklahoma State must have lost at least one, no? So the Big 8 has lost at least 9 nonconference games. -- Kevin Leuthold

The interesting note is that the three best teams of the Big 4 from the SWC are 3-1 vs the Big 8.

I think the focus is Big 8 losses against SWC teams. Others were listed, but here's the tally:
KU defeated Houston, lost to TCU 1-1 NU defeated Texas Tech 1-0 MU defeated Houston 1-0 CU defeated Texas 1-0 OSU lost to Baylor 0-1 KSU defeated Rice 1-0 ISU lost to Rice 0-1 OU defeated Texas Tech, 1-2 lost to TAMU and Texas ------------------------------------- Big Eight 6, SWC 5

But did they win any from the three best teams in the Big 8?

Another interesting note is that those 3 wins were against the 2 teams that will be making up the rest of southern division of the Big 12.
(this is of course assuming that I haven't totally buggered up the presumed organization of the new conference, which would come as no surprise to me, since I've been in a lab for the last few years)

[Looks like bait, smells like bait... time for a taste test...]
Well, let's see here. UT, OPSUT, and Baylor are 2-1 against the three best teams in the Big 8, which are, of course, Nebraska, Colorado, and oklahoma.
Expecting flaming wildcats incoming...

GASP! CHOKE! WHEEZE! :)
I won't argue who's third-best. Nebraska and OU will have to fight that one out. :)
