i got this thing.....for helping out at AC Regionals....
i think it's made out of that new dry fit material everyone's been talking
about.....
it's a......band....a two inch strip of that fabric.....sew to make a
loop...a circle......
i guess the folks that offered them up as 'volunteer gifts' are called Gimme
Five Ultimate, because that's what the tag reads that they sewed on
there.....Five Ultimate, with a 5 and a dot com....
at first...i didn't have a clue....still not sure that i do.....
knee? calf? head?....nope....small for head....
is it a wrist band?....no....too floppidy....
i pulled it up higher on my forearm.....and it fit snug up there......
is that where i wear it?
at first...i tried to dish it off on a young UNC Darkside kid, because it's
that god aweful tarhole blue....he didn't want it........damn......
.....i figured this loop of material would have to be something dryfit that
one of these young ultimate athletes would understand........
so....i wore it the rest of that chilly, rainy mens wrap-around final
between UGA and UNC...up there on my forearm....feelin' sort of silly about
it......

now.....i can't take that thing off......
i come home from work....and i'm like mr rogers changing into his house
shoes.....me, puttin' on my mystery arm thing.
i wore it out to spring league.....it stayed right there on my forearm the
whole time......

is this what i think it is..........newschool arm band(formerly a terry
cloth wrist band)???

anyone?

Mike, this was probably the best post that I have read on this forum
since I have been reading this forum. Thank you for your insights.

pwn3d (way to say, "you got me there, Mike" in the parlance of
computer gamers)

i just liked the part about looking forward to get home to adorn this
piece of material.

Yes, this is a newschool arm band.

Next year will be a sash (dryfit material of course).

And then onto a waist band.

Now, you'd think that would be it.

But newschoolers love new styles....and more is always better.

I imagine one day, ultimate athletes will look like this:

Layouts will never be the same...

Still a valid question, and we *still* don't have an answer.

Confirms my suspicions...

I have mine on my nightstand... it's that place where you don't know
where else to put things... cuz I don't know what to do with it...
but it looks like a nice item that I shouldn't throw away.
