First major effect of the restructure long term...either
Bravo or Chain will not qualify for Pro Flight.

Rhino and Machine for the other spot.

Ironside, Doublewide, GOAT, Revolver, Sockeye, and Ring of
Fire are already in.

That would be weird to not have one of them.

Why? Which of the other teams should not be there?

(not trolling, real question)

To me, the 6 teams that are already in are deserved teams
and have had successful programs over multiple years.

With Open ultimate getting closer games every year at
nationals, there will always be good teams that miss the top
8.

I think either one. They are both staples at nationals.

Either way, they both still have a chance to qualify for
Club Champs 2013.

Also, wasn't there a stipulation that USAU could move teams
up/down that were over performing/under performing in their
perspective tier?

Is the USAU going to set a metric by which you must play to
stay in that top tier?

Traveling is quite spread out for both Flights.

Pro:
3 East Coast
2 West Coast
2 Fly-Overs
1 Canadian (east)

Elite:
3 East Coast
2 West Coast
2 Fly-Overs
1 Canadian (west)

2 West Coast
3 Fly-Overs
1 Canadian (west)

Non-sarcastic post...

Does anyone really think that if Chain Lightning falls to
Ironside today, ending their season sooner than they
thought, in large part because they had such a poor
Thursday, that they will take solace in the fact that they
qualified for the Pro Flight?

Conversely, does anyone think that Rhino is kicking
themselves because they missed out on the Pro Flight, or
because they spent so much energy in tight games on
Thursday, that they didn't have enough left on Friday, and
blew a great opportunity to make quarters (and beyond)?

I noticed the announcer making a big deal of "the winner
qualifies for the Pro Flight" during the broadcast
yesterday, and it just sounded dumb. No one is looking
beyond this tournament right now.

Side tangent: Elite, according to dictionary.com, means
(often used with a plural verb) the choice or best of
anything considered collectively, as of a group or class of
persons.

Would someone please explain to me then why the Elite Flight
is the 2nd tier?

There are a lot of benefits to being in the Pro Flight next
year, so yes I would imagine that teams would be psyched to
qualify for the top tier of competition in the new
structure. If I was a Nationals caliber team, I would
definitely take pride in knowing my team was playing in the
Pro Flight. To endless' point, it will be weird not seeing
Bravo in the best Flight next year, but hopefully they will
get the chance to play those Pro Flight teams at some
tournaments.
