Hello College Ultimate Fans, Coaches, Players and Parents,

In the past i have organized the National Ultimate Media Panel who
cast their votes for the NUMP College Rankings.
The NUMP was met with great success......

Now....i'm ready to start the UOA College Rankings.
If YOU are interested in being a member of the UOA Rankings Panel,
please contact me directly and we can get to work ranking the top
college teams in the country!

Contact me directly and let me know your name, the college team you
once did/do play for, a tiny brief bio, and where you live.
Once we get a nice panel of rankers from across the country, we can
get to work ranking teams.

Here's how we'll do it....
You'll send me your TOP 20 every other week and i'll tabulate the
scores and announce the UOA Top 25.
20 pts for your #1 team, 19 for #2, 18 for #3 etc.....1 pt for #20.
I'll add up the points and rank the teams.

If you haven't heard of the NUMP....search it here on rsd.
Folks seem to have loved it in the past...and have appreciated it.

Oh...at the end of the year.....we'll vote on the UOA All American
Team and the UOA Player of the year.

YES....mens and womens rankings and All American teams and Players of
the Year!

the NUMP is probably the most legitimate aspect of college ultimate.
the organization and time that goes into this is quite substantial,
so
instead of knocking the poll, take a second and thank mike for doing
the entire sport of ultimate a pretty big favor.

My understanding is that It is an opinion based poll
with a panel of members that are very experienced and qualified to
have a decent opinion about college ultimate teams. Seems like many
"real" college sports operate this way.

Mike is trying to make college ultimate more exciting
and volunteered several years ago to put this thing together. He's
very professional and organized about it

And as far as NUMP, I love the idea - it gets people talking about
who
they think is the best and come regionals time it makes seeding a bit
easier along with RRI and the few matchups that might have happened
between teams. NUMP is better than the UPA in this regard that they
are ranking on a perceived strength. Doesn't mean someone won't
break
their seed or there aren't mistakes.

--closing in on 500 reads.....and i've gotten about 10 letters from
folks hoping to get on the Voting Panel.

i gotta say...i love reading the letters and short bios/histories of
folks who are interested.
i mean....the qualifications are awesome!
former captain of *a big name program*....a coach of *such and
such*......played club for *so and so* and now coach *blah blah blah*
or...i've run this many tournaments and won coach of the year and was
a member of the blah blah blah team.

the notes always give me great confidence that....the people who will
be casting their ballots, are qualified and interested and worthy of
their ballot!

I've already received one killer ballot.

So...if you want to join the UOA Voting Panel.....write me directly.
give me your brief history/bio.....and go ahead and give me your Top
20!

i have about 10 now....

we need some womens rankers too!
i've always tabulated votes for both college mens and womens
divisions....

the UOA needs more more more folks to cast their ballots!
I've gotten several ballots already...i am going to shoot for the
first rankings being announced NEXT TUES.....
if we get a few more panel members between now and then, it'll
definitely be next tues.

we've gotten a few women div voters.....but we need more!

Ranking system!!!!!
....and the UOA is proud to give the people what they want!

now....we need more panel members to cast their ballots!

I see, so by "REAL" you meant by panel of people. Gotcha.

What about "the return" part? Was there a human-based
ranking system before that is no longer used? When was it
used/by whom?

i've seen some folks share their opinions about the Rankings in this
and other threads......
if you have an opinion.....join the panel and cast a ballot every
other week.

we'd love to have more panel members voting for the UOA College
Rankings...so if you follow the sport and don't mind spending 10 or 15
minutes every two weeks to cast a ballot, join up!
if you want to be a part of deciding the UOA All American teams....the
top 7 girls and top 7 boys in the country playing college
ultimate....the recipients of the sweet SAVAGE ULTIMATE jerseys....
