I have only played a year of high level ultimate so I
haven't played with and against people but a couple of my
club teammates I would imagine I would hate to play against.
Foremost would be Tyler Conger (Tanasi, formerly Axis of
C'Ville and UVA I think). I love playing with him cause he
has awesome breaks and is fun to handle with. He's a big
focal point for the other team which opens up a lot of
options to his teammates. He's very vocal so a lot of the
stuff you can get distracted with, he's already taking care
of and all you have to worry about is making good plays.
I haven't played against him but he can be infuriating to
the other team. Mostly stems from things like travel calls
(not that they aren't travels, I think in 4 or 5 games over
the season with observers, everyone of his travel calls was
upheld but he definitely looks for them). He seems to get
grin more and more the chippy-ier a game gets but tt's not
like a Pitt/Oakland where they thrive off the other team
being pissed at them and are pushing hard for that intensity
all game. It's more that he enjoys just getting under
someone's skin. He'll be grinning about that break throw he
just threw around the kid who's ticked at him about a foul
call 20 minutes ago or something. And seeing that grin can
be infuriating when you know you really aren't capable of
stopping it.
Wow- obviously I am really putting off doing my final
projects, I put way too much thought into that.
