Entries for the 67th annual Pictures of the Year International
competition opens tomorrow (Dec 18, 2009).

This is a pretty amazing competition. I think all entries must have
been previously published.
I believe they generally get upwards of 10,000 entries.
The judging process is open to the public. I've sat in on the sport-
photography judging a few times.
For someone who enjoys photography.... it's a pretty humbling
experience to witness, in person, world class photo-journalism editors
flip through 1000s of great photographs on a big screen.
Weeding 1000s of already published photographs down to a handful.
To anyone entering, best of luck.
