ESPN has recently hired an ombudsman, to take a look at both their
television and radio networks. The overview of his job and what exactly
he'll be doing, can be found here:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?columnist=solomon_george...

And his contact information, can be found here:

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/story?id=2097428

Really, with enough feedback, he could end up being a way for ultimate
to get some air time.

Just a thought.

awesome pickup, hopefully everyone out there who is commenting on the
other posts, how they are too lazy to actually get out there and do
something for the furtherment of the sport can take five seconds and
fill out this form. here ill make it easy for you, heres a message you
can copy and paste into the body of the form...

Mr. Solomon,
I am contacting you in hopes that you will advise ESPN to include more
coverage of Ultimate in its broadcasts. Millions of people participate
in the sport of ultimate in the united states alone. The national
governing body the UPA (www.upa.org) oversees the competition of
hundreds if not thousands of teams. With open championships every year
culminating in the top 16 teams in the nation, ultimate is one of the
most exciting sports in the country to follow, watch, and/or play.
Anyone can enter the season and the championship tournaments unknown
and come out as a winner. With enough drive and determination and hard
work, a team of no names can come to upset perennial powerhouses. This
sport is the pure embodiement of the american dream.
It is a testament to the underdog spirit that makes this nation great.
A testament to the idea that competition is not a product of paychecks
and endorsements, of scandal and bickering but rather pure athleticism
at its highest forms.
College Sports Television has covered the College championships for the
last few years. Televising for most of the country the spectacular
layouts, catches, throws, and defense of the top college players in the
nation.
ESPN has a rare opportunity here to be at the forefront of a new sport.
The window of opportunity however is small, Ultimate is rapidly gaining
fans, players and media coverage. If they do not act soon the question
of the average american will be, "why cant i find the ultimate game on
espn?" rather than, "i applaud espn, they are ahead of their time
here."
If you could push these recommendations toward the directors of
programming at ESPN, if would be greatly appreciated. Not only by
myself, but by the millions of athletes on the high school, college,
open, co-ed, and masters teams around the nation who are looking for
national attention for ultimate in the media.

Sincerely,
_______ < your name
_______ < your team affiliation

copy and past that if you want, into the form on this page, for the
love of god write something yourself. but do not waste this opportunity
people!!

You might want to take out the "and bickering" part.

bickering in my mind in that context was referring to the "stars" of
pro sports quarelling over raises to their already exorbitant salaries.

example that comes to my mine (being from philly area) terrell owens
"needing" his salary raised from how many million to how much more? its
rediculous.

by all means my above statement is merely a jumping point to hopefully
inspire people to copy and paste what they like and write their own
thoughts to espn, on why ultimate should have more coverage.
