What would be your ideal O line? D line? Double game point line?
Any general thoughts on the weekend? How was the coaching?
Beginning with the warmup, speed & agility testing, interviews, skills
drills, and world games defensive drill, these kids look absolutely
incredible.
In the triangle of death, every kid had at least solid throws, and
many threw with club-veteran-like form. Very impressive throughout.
Further, in the world games defensive drill (start at half-field, one
offender, one defender, offender gets 0 or 1 moves and then burns to
one of 2 10'x10' boxes, which are located at the front cone of the
opposite sideline's endzones to receive a short pass), the level of
athleticism, speed, boxing out to receive throws, and layout-ability
was simply stunning. They are fast and, what's scarier, they use it
well.
After a lunch break, players were divided into teams for scrimmages
and multiple short games were played. Conditions were excellent, with
only a slight breeze that wasn't too shifty and a cool temperature
that was only bordering on chilly if you weren't running around. Each
team was led by a coach, with Ben and Pauline helping run the show
(Jody coached a team).
Saturday finished with 3v3 Mini Scrimmages. It was a long day and
everyone was really gassed, but they still performed admirably.
I wasn't able to attend Sunday's more scrimmage-filled day, but I
understand it was windier.
Decisions for this team will be very, very difficult. Many kids stood
out as fantastic players, and with the excellent coaches they have in
Ben Van Heuvelen, Jody Avirgan, and Pauline Lauderbach, I see this
team tearing up Germany come August. They could easily field an
enormous 6'2 and above line.
Finally, the level of the tryouts at this camp was high enough that I
would feel pretty darn confident with any group of ~20 kids from the
tryout going into Germany; yes they were that good. For those that
don't make the team, know that you are trying out amongst the best
high school players in the world, and will surely be dominating us
club players very, very soon.

Curious if some are teammates already, and to see if certain cities/

takes skill too. #Justsayin
Well he's just so awesome that I don't want to bother anyone with all
of the details. Plus you may realize how much your life sucks and
can't compare so you'd end your life. Understandable. But ok.
Great handler. Good defender. Athletic. Good person and team player.
Just a short list of his awesomeness.
