Why do you Florida tools keep changing the subject of seeding posts to
spam? You're losing the nerd vote for Kurt's Callahan bid.

Pool D = ouch every year. And this year it's not nearly as tough as
it has been in recent years.

Pool B is the tough one this year. Wisconsin = defending champs.
Arizona has no Nationals experience but has had a terrific season.
Stanford is having a weak season but is a perennial powerhouse at
Nationals. And Pitt deserves a higher seed, but had to be behind
Delaware. As a way of objectifying pool difficulty, I predict this
pool has the highest average finishing place.

(Note that Wisco and Pitt, from the same pool, took 1st and 9th last
year, but UNC and Kansas took 13th and 15th, making them the weakest
pool (average of 9.5). The strongest was pool D, 6.5 - 3rd, 5th, 5th,
13th, then pool C, 6.75 - 2nd, 5th, 9th, 11th, then pool B, 8 - 3rd,
5th, 11th, 15th.)

Pool D has three potential pool winners in Michigan, Texas, and
Georgia.

Pool B is gonna be tough. Stanford will go 0-fer. Any of the other
three *could* end up at #2.

Pool A is a joke....

Pool C is an easy ride for Colorado but anyone else could take that
two spot (yes, even Dartmouth.... maybe... probably not though.)

It depends on how much Florida opens the rotation. If they stay with the top
nine guys they could roll through without any team getting double digits.
Maybe they will rest some of their guys on day one because you know they
won't come quarters, semis, or finals.

Pool A could end up being a lot closer than you expect. North Texas
hasn't been challenged since their poor performance at TiV. They
actually had a win against Illinois very early (DGP), and split the
Sectionals/Regionals finals with 5 seed Texas. Florida and Illinois
match up very well if you look at the scores. Illinois has lost to
Florida 3 times by a total of 6 points. Take into account the last
time Florida played anyone important (Georgia tanking the front door
doesn't count, and Wilmington's season is too confusing) was at
Centex, before the glacier had receded across the Wisconsin border and
Illinois began practicing outside. Delaware will get to ten on all
their opponents, albeit cumulatively.

Also I heard from a knowledgeable source that Michigan is fielding
their strongest team ever. From what I've seen they will roll their
pool. Late season bad losses by Georgia and Texas do not bode well,
and trouble in the dollar and high commodity prices have sapped
Harvard's will to litigate their way to a win. I'm not hating on
Georgia or Texas, but I believe Michigan is just that good.

Other pools: Carleton or Colorado, toss up, although Jolian's video
was sick, (and sickening). Santa Cruz has just lost to too many
teams, however taking a bid to Nationals even though the Regional
tournament was not held in Santa Cruz does give them hope. Dartmouth
will not break free of their preterition against western teams, they
were not born to it. Also Wisconsin will take some time to remember
how to lose at Nationals, while early season success by a fair weather
team will succumb to the bulky unthinking impetuous of experience.
Stanford, god willing, will suck.

I don't think Florida's pool is a "cake walk." They didn't exactly
smother Illinois (two one point victories and a 4 point triumph aren't
exactly breathtaking. Also, they have this little monkey to deal with
called Delaware. They did beat them last year at Nationals.

True, but all matchups at nationals tend to at least have some
appeal. Are you saying Florida would have more of a cakewalk if they
were playing Carleton or Arizona instead of Illinois? How about Pitt
or Harvard instead of Delaware? The point is that their pool is,
comparatively to other pools, a cakewalk.
