The UOA is trying AGAIN to get to the West Coast!!!
Oregon B wrote asking about a West Coast Div or the UOA B Team
Championships.
They say that there are several teams out that way that might be
interested in hosting...and even offered to look into reserving
fields!
One foot in the door....and we think we'll KICK THE DOOR DOWN!!!!
We want to get there.....so....if your west coast B team is interested
in competing in a KILLER officiated event, please contact the UOA
directly!
Thanks

Oregon says that they can reserve 4 fields....possibly two more.

4 fields is PERFECT for a killer west coast B team championship!!!!
8 teams....1 pool....7 pool games and a final placement game for each
team.
8 officiated games crammed into the weekend for each team!!!!

If your west coast B team is interested in competing for the UOA West
Coast B Team Championship...contact the UOA directly!
thanks

Oregon State B has contacted the UOA about possibly hosting a UOA West
Coast B Team Championship.
They say they have 8 or 10 turf fields and can host if it makes the
West Coast event more appealing to more teams.

Is Oregon State MORE central out there?
Would Oregon State LURE more B teams to the UOA West Coast B Team
Championships???

If your team wants to compete, or if you want to officiate games, let
me know.
Thanks
UOA

Hey Mike, i thought you just announced that the West Coast B
Team Nationals was at Oregon, fields reserved and all, but
now you are looking at Oregon State. Just trying to figure
out what the deal is. Hope you guys get something going on
out west.

A more central location might help more B teams make the trip.

The fields have been reserved at Oregon.
But a more central location could help get more teams.

It's just a classic example of the UOA being flexible and showing its
willingness to work with the players

The UOA will keep you posted.

It's the West Coast, nothing is central. Oregon and Oregon
State are a half hour apart. Both are about 550 miles from
the Bay area and a 4 1/2 hour drive from Seattle and a 6 1/2
hour drive from Vancouver. LA? Probably a flight to
Portland then an hour and a half drive. More importantly,
though, that weekend is probably the weekend for the NW
Conference tournament (which I don't think has been
announced yet).

I'm not even sure of which schools have B teams, but I'd
guess it's limited to UBC, UW, UofO, OSU, Cal and Stanford.
Most of the other schools out West are too small or too
limited in players to afford a B team.

Good luck pulling this off, but realize it ain't so easy out
here on the sparsely populated coast.

Calling this a sham. They're less than an hour apart, which
is small potatoes in the west.

If I'm not mistaken (and I'm not, as I was there as one of
the Officials). The Texas B team made the trip all the way
to Greenville, NC for the B Team Nationals last year. So
what if you have little drive ahead of you. At leat they are
being recognized and offered a tournament. The same can't be
said for those other guys, USAU!

Get in the car. Drive however many hours with your teamates
making memories all along the way. Experience the BEST
OFFICIALS on the planet and the BEST run tournament that
these B-teamers can experience.

--not sure what a 'sham' means....but we're for real....and so is the
Oregon B team reserving fields.
however.....the UOA is working together, with Oregon and Oregon State
to lure teams to compete.
there's no conflict....and we can cancel fields or use fields or
whatever it takes.
Both those schools WANT the UOA out there to organize a KILLER B
event....and we're all working together to make it happen.

~~~~~~
--yes, that is correct....and they are interested in making that trip
again, as a matter of fact.
hey...i'm just gonna go ahead and put this out there.....
we at the UOA are constantly trying to figure out our goals and
missions....we're fluid like that.
we are starting to realize that the UOA may very well become a B event
organizer in the spring and an A event organizer in the fall(The UOA
Fall College Season)
we are preparing to take the B world by storm by offering those teams
AWESOME events where they are treated like champs all spring long.
stay tuned for THAT!
