Yes. Frankly, I'm surprised we haven't seen it pop up as a
recurring feature on Skyd. They've been hitting the mark on
everything else lately.

"Huddle-esque" writing is showing up more frequently on
Skyd, but there was something about that perfect mix of
expert opinion and big name authors...

Yes! Also someone needs to do another fantasy draft, like
the huddle did a few years back.

I was under the impression that the UPA had bought it out to
integrate it into their website. So there's that explanation
as to why it died.

Here you go, if you were missing The Huddle:
http://www.usaultimate.org/multimedia/the_huddle/default.aspx

The bold-type question says everything you need to know
about how the USAU has nurtured and grown The Huddle's
fantastic offerings.

What can YOU expect from the Huddle in 2011?

I totally miss it. I thought it was the best graphic design
and photography in the sport.

i dont miss it for shit. it was just a bunch of self serving hype
dished out by egotistical elite players as far as i could tell......a
bunch of '"rubbish" if you will........although there is ONE gem in
there archives somewhere......an artical written by yours truely about
how the upa shoulda and coulda started an elite level semi pro league.

and if its so fuckin great then why hasent someone brought it back to
life......under the huddle name or some other title. i mean, what was
it anyways??? just some random blog with a semi organized discussion
topic list right?

is this the same organization that is hosting a seminar
entitled "Are we ready for Primetime?" this summer in
Boulder?

it appears that the USAU heads are on here somewhere, as
there is a new announcement on the Huddle page:

http://www.usaultimate.org/multimedia/the_huddle/default.aspx

no word on what kind of super sweeping design changes to a
loose collection of articles on ultimate related subjects
might take over a year and a half and still not be finished,
but I'll just bet that it's going to be super duper sweet.

Lol! Way to stay on top of things USAU. I sure hope no one
doubts that we are going to see some awesome work in "early
summer"!

maybe by then, they'll have gotten done copying and scanning
in all the features of the previous 36 Huddle articles.
they were still "working on" that when i checked it out the
other day.

is it not wierd that for 16-18 months almost nothing got
done since the USAU/UPA taking over the Huddle, two winters
and a summer with relatively little going on in the ulimate
world, but a couple of days after someone posts about it on
RSD, the week before one of the 3 major events that USAU
hosts, there is miraculous progress?

they're almost like some stoner high school student when his
parents ask them how their term paper is going. "uhh, i'm
working on it? yeah, i'll have something to show you real
soon."
