UGA goes down 3-1 to UNC in the semis, then storms back behind sick
play from Peter Dempsey to take a 7-6 lead. Break for half gives UGA
the 8-6 lead. Should be a great 2nd half.

Emory beat Clemson 15-11, then lost to NC State 14-15. It sounds like
Emory was up 11-6 at one point.

Pool play: all four 1 seeds held

Semi: Wake Forest def UGA 15-11
Semi: UNC def Florida 15-6?(7?8?)

Didn't get final scores on the other bracket games, but last i saw:
looked like South Carolina was going to beat Davidson in the D3-C2
bracket game
looked like NCSU was going to beat UNC-W in the A3-B2 bracket game
and richmond-UVA was close (12-10) in the D2-C3 bracket game
A2-B3 was Emory-???

hopefully score reporter will get filled out later tonight (it's
closed to public): http://upa.org/scores/tourn.cgi?div=122&id=4426

Emory lost to Davidson 12-15 (after being up 8-4 at half).

Emory beats GA Tech 13-7 to take 11th place.

for the 13th place game.
JMU won that game as well, not sure of the score.

I wasn't there, but I hear Florida took down Georgia pretty handily.
Can't deny I was rooting for Georgia to pull the upset; they were
playing absolutely lights-out yesterday against UNC, and it was great
to watch.

UNC takes out UCF in the game-to-go-to-game-to-go, after Cameron Amey
from UCF got hurt.

Regardless of how that score looks, this wouldn't be the first time
UGA has tanked a game against Florida in the front door final when
they knew they probably weren't going to win and a second bid was
still available. Last time I saw it happen (in person), the final
score was 15-5.

For the women: Wake over UNC in the finals. Wake took half 9-1. UNC
came out stronger in the second half, at one point the score was Wake
16 - 7 UNC. Wake got the win but not sure about the final score.

Congrats to Ruckus, who qualifies for Nationals for the first time in
the team's history.

really tired my ass..we were just as tired- can't give us props can
you? No respect, no respect...Anyways, it was a really fun and close
game, just hate to see people blaming it on "being tired" when
obviously everyone else is feeling the same way.

Yep, UGA opens up their rotation and rests their starters after going
down several breaks early in the game. UGA seems to be having some
offensive difficulties early in the game, going down 6-2 to GA Tech,
3-0 to UNC on Saturday, 5-1? to Florida, and 3-1 to UNC on Sunday.
However, the defense got enough breaks to come back. Peter Dempsey
played out of his mind most of the weekend, he had three or four
defensive blocks in the front-door semis including an impossibly high
layout on a huck.

PS I left during the rain delay, can someone post a recap of the
backdoor finals?

Anyone notice Richmond women's team broke their seed by 5? As a

As a biased non-observer (I was in Pensacola for my baby mama's first
triathlon), did anyone notice that FSU broke their seed by 6? It's not
that we earned much respect before regionals, but way to take a W&M
and more importantly TECH out on the biggest stage yet of our season.
I wish I could've been there with you guys, but sometimes family first
and whatnot. I don't normally get to gush on the google boards, but
hot damn! DUF DUF DUF woo.

Drew out.

Yeah UGA had some serious early offensive struggles in both the Semi
against UNC and Finals against Florida. I think I saw the usually-
sure-handed Greg Swanson drop 2 discs in the first 5 points of both
games... They came back strong in the Semi thanks to some incredible
D by #11 Peter Dempsey (sp?)... that guy is insanely fast and gets my
all-region vote.

Also, Florida took half 9-3 in the finals and UGA's studs didn't play
after the first 10 points. Florida played incredibly well this
weekend--they didn't play Darkside but were in a very different league
from each of their opponents. They seem to have a 9-man rotation and
nobody gets winded. Against the earlier teams they are content to go
up a few breaks and just hold on offense, and they do a great job of
saving their hardest D for their biggest games. My only question is
can they go a full weekend of playing that kind of D with a 9-man
rotation? Judging by how well conditioned they have been in the past
two years my guess is yes, and barring a huge upset they will
definitely be playing on Sunday in 2 weeks.

Well they won nationals with pretty much only an 8 man line two years
ago. (basically the gehret, gibson show) so I dont see why not. But
wearing them out is definitely a good strategy (I know wisco tries to
sub on d a lot to wear Florida out). U gotta make them work for it on
offense more...
