I googled around for ultimate in Belgium a while back, before a trip,
and it looked at that time like you could find open practices in
Brussels and Leuven. Didn't end up playing when I was there though.
The one thing I did see, and I realize nobody is going to believe me on
this, was a kid, maybe 13, try to rip a throw that was essentially a
backhand anvert (travel though) over a crowd of old British tourists as
they were getting back on their bus outside the De Dolle brewery in
Esen--with predictable results.

anverts are pretty common in belgium. this could be due to the
flemish/wallon cultures so close together. i think a UPA innovation
grant should be awarded to look into drafting an anvert-specific rule
for the 12th edition. this wouldn't help in belgium however because
they use WFDF rules (I think).

Anverts are practiced daily in Belgium by kids from 5 years old onwards
in school. The results below.
