sublimated jerseys are all the rage on the field this year.

customer service is super nice and helpful. Their resistex material
feels great and holds up to a ton of abuse. And flexlight is more
durable than almost any other base price jersey option from a
manufacturer. The Seminole Ladies use VC. Zissou uses VC. DUF used 'em
last year (not sure about this year yet). UPA observer program uses
VC. And even the mad popes now love VC. Their sublimation looks
sharper, crisper, and better than anyone else's, as far as I'm
concerned. ¡Viva Canada! ¡Viva VC!

-is incredibly unfortunate. Most (though not all) of these jerseys
look ridiculous. I saw many atrociously dressed club teams last
season, and I'm sure it's only going to get worse. 5 years from now I
hope we look back at this as that "hideous-sublimation-more-color-is-
better phase"

I couldn't have made the ship wrap around without sublimation. It is a
really sweet process and it can be done in a way that doesn't look
like it was airbrushed at the flea market. Also, our ladies also
decided they wanted to start repping short shorts and VC made it
happen. The short shorts have started infecting the Seminole Ladies'
roster as well.

Ps. Amp and D'oh both had subs done by Five (not sure who made
Madison's). Go to Five's website and look at their club and college
replica sublimated shirts. Most of them fit the definition, in my
opinion, of airbrushed at the flea market and/or super walmart.

Ha. Nice find/connection. Though the Rockies and the Flycoons
jerseys have the similarity of being the best of the bunch.

Michigan State had those kits at Tally Classic last year too and were
also done by VC. They fit my less is more preference. They some of the
first fully sublimated ultimate shirts I'd seen up close and I spent a
day or so trying to figure out how it was printed. I also especially
like Notre Dame's whites. The camos are a bit busy for my taste and
hard to read from a distance, but I also understand that the style
falls in with their tradition of yelling angrily while looking like a
shrubbery. I think I saw a simple UNC darkside sublimation (though it
could've been printed) from last season that was made by VC. Though I
did get to observe a game with Winona State with their VC Hendrix
shirts that don't read so well, especially with the offset numbers. In
the mockups posted on VC's sub page they looked pretty good. They just
don't transfer so well to being immediately recognizable as anything
other grey and black swirls. You really have to look to find that
Jimmy head. GOAT's dark blue shirts, also made by VC (http://

nice. Simple lines. Easily read. They look great from on the field or
across it.

-William and Mary: Got to see them up close. Not a bad design and
still pretty easy to read, though the lines on it don't seem all that
crisp up close. I also don't like that the colors don't match up so
well on some of the sides. I'm pretty sure they were done by Savage.

don't we COVER every last inch of our shirt with graphics because we
finally CAN!" I don't have anything against those Dogs of War other
than their fashion choice for this year. They may have the best system
set in place in the state for college ultimate without being goons. I
think these are made by Breakmark, but I could very well be wrong.

seems to suffer from the MLB future thing from offset numbers,
wraparound graphics, and unconventional nameplate spots. Check

I have also realized that most of the sub designs I've made and am
working out right now take a lot from older soccer jersey styles (look
at the US whites from world cup 2006) hence why I like the lines on
ND's whites. I also really like having small numbers (3" or so) on the
front and big numbers on the back. Easier player identification. Plus
it looks super classy.
At the end of the day, I stand firm in my belief that there is no
reason to play in a shirt that looks like you got it airbrushed at the
flea market. It looks terrible. I urge uniform designers across the
ultimate landscape to make crisp, simple designs that can be read from
across the field, as opposed to ones that must be deciphered while in
the stack. I guess if your team strategy is to distract your opponents
with labyrithian designs to gain a psychological advantage, then by
all means look fashionably terrible on the field as long as you're
piling up those wins.

full disclosure, i designed the notre dame whites. so i am glad you
liked them. with that being said, i think those w&m and ucf uniforms
are pretty hideous. one thing i worried about (and hope i avoided) was
making a light jersey 'dark' because of all the design elements. this
was the reason for the very light grid throughout the ND jersey and
the presence of only two stripes. plus my thinking was if i keep the
jersey relatively quiet, the plaid numbers will pop on the back. from
the photos it looks like that was accomplished. in a way, designing a
sublimated jersey is a work of art, and sometimes the hardest part of
art is understanding that what isnt included in the design can be just
as important as what is included.

Well nice work and kudos to your design. From the look of the white
and from your comments, I can now officially consider you one of the
good guys when it comes to ultimate shirt layout. We should start some
sort of an elitest union to keep the colors clean and the shirts
respectable. But would others even join...

I can certainly let it slide due to an almost exclusively primary
color scheme (I can't tell what the muted picture on the right side of
the shirts is up to) and definitely bonus points for numbers on the
front. Numbers on the front never ever seems like a bad idea to me and
always looks great.
