thank you
We have a set of identical twins on my club team.
molly and claire suver/oregon and washington, matt and mike clarke/
illinois '05(?)
Vandenbergs, Paul and Mike, of Boston Ultimate/Brown and currently
captaining Brown. Speaking of Brown, the Mahoney brothers and the
McCarthurs (sp) all played.
The Simon Twins (Rebecca, Brown) and Adam "Chicken" Simon of Colorado.
The Tunnells, Dylan formerly of UGA and Leila, currently of
Connecticut College. The Zipersteins, Dory being the younger sister.
-Donnie
- Molly and Claire Suver - twins (both captained on the U.S. Junior
Worlds team in 2006, both played for Riot, Molly plays for Oregon,
Claire for Washington)
- Josh and Dory Ziperstein
- Dylan and Leila Tunnell
- Derek and Colin Gottlieb
- Lisa and Sam Kanner
- Adam and Rebecca Simon - twins
The only way I got into ultimate was because my older siblings, Anne
and Nate Bosscher, both play.
Ask the Titcombs who they get on their Siblings Potlatch team each
year, they make it a requirement to have a brother or sister playing
with you.

Identical twins Fortunat and Matthias Mueller. Both on the Junior
Worlds team back in the day. Matthias went to Grinell, Fort went to
Brown, and the rest is history. I'm not sure if Matthias plays club
these days.
...oh....and Mrs. D, of course.

can't believe no one has yet mentioned #s 20 and 30 who play for
florida.
i've heard the older gibson brother is an OK player. not sure about
chris, but he was money at the dunk-tank in vegas...

We were just talking about this the other day. Over the years, I have
known five(count 'em) sets of twins who played; some together on the
same team, others not.
The Owens brothers, Matt and Ben. Matt (Scrappy) played for the Black
Tide in the late '80s; Ben (who was also a world champion boomerang
tosser, if you can believe that) played a bit less formally in the SF
Bay Area.
The Stoud(sp?) brothers. Tall redhead identical twins who played
collegiate for Stanford and Las Positas. Early mid-90s.
The Glimmes. Three brothers, two of them twins. Twins played for Tide,
later Condors; younger brother played for SLO. Late 90's early 2000s
The Wexlers, Matt and Aaron, played for SLO mid 2000s. Matt now plays
for Condors. Aaron drinks for a living.
Tyler and Levi, identical twins playing for SLO these days.
Also, Pat and Mike Butler; Brian and Tim O'Donnell and some I'm surely
forgetting.
And here's a good one: Doug-the-Bum Salter is Steve Dugan's uncle
(that's a lotta rings in one family tree).
(Perhaps the 'oregon brothers' team needs to get together for a
tournament sometime.)
Jacob Janin is hopefully still in high school.
Cincottas - 8 ultimate playing siblings have their own Wildwood team
(Maplewood, NJ)
Evan Padget (Colorado), Zander Padget (Columbia HS)
Campbell Morrissy (Colorado/Australia), Tim Morrissy (Columbia HS)
Tom James, Julia James, Andrew? James (Stanford)
George Stubbs (harvard), India Stubbs (Paideia)
There are many more, but not as notable
Beau and Camden, who both played for Bravo this year
Extremely effective... if you want to get pregnant.
Emilio (2000 jr worlds, Pike) and Stephen (2006 jr worlds, NC State)

Hi Dave,
-Miles
The Patisteas twins, Slow White playmakers for the last few years.
The Kittridges, Valdivias, Tunnells, Gibsons, Meullers, Simons,
Bosschers, Titcombs, Gottliebs, Zalisks, Zippersteins, Suvers,
Vandbergs, Mahoneys, Wigginses, etc.
This has been discussed before, but isn't it time for team Sibling
Divalry to beat the shit out of teams at an open/coed tourney to be
named soon?
Hh
Any other sibling duo won College Natties together other than my bro
and me? Anybody else look their brother off for the tourney winner?
Shawn O'Brien (Furious) and Megan O'Brien (Traffic)
Mahoneys and Vandenbergs definitely won together ...
-Donnie
The gibson brothers were both on the 06 florida team that won
Dave
Back in the late 1980's Chris Phillips played with New York New York
and competed against his brother Motta who played for Boston.
In the early 80's they both played on various NY teams together, or so
I've been told. I moved to New York in 1986 but maybe someone else can
give more detail.
they were both incredible players who exemplified skill,
competitiveness with sportsmanship. Hard to say who was better, a toss
up.
MJ
The Cincottas deserve a bigger shout out here. It's like they have an
ultimate player breeding program. If the Naval Academy hadn't axed
their ultimate program, I'm sure Joel and Nick would've ripped up the
Metro East.
JMU has had a sibling thing going for years now, Zorro. Jae (Booboo)
and Eric (Astro) Miner, Jeff Laarz (Jeffro) and his sister, Scuttle
and me, Matt Eddy's brother was one of the 'fish founders. . . etc etc
What is really an interesting question is have we reached the point
where we can have three generations playing ultimate? Grandparent,
parent, child?
Madd Matt
glad someone mentioned the Dobyns brothers. Brian is/was an incredible
player, different in so many ways than his little brother, smooth and
mellow but oh sooo good.
MJ
Andy Scheman and Peter Scheman.
New York players who were both great but always played against each
other.
Andy with NYNY, Peter with lesser NY area teams, I think Graffiti was
one.
Greg and Ted Phillips both great players with very different styles
and personalities. Played on various NY area teams and had great
skills and attitudes.
Well, at least Teddy does.
MJ
John and Dee Palmer from RIT and Fairfield County, CT
Both future hall of famers!
MJ
The Sauls, Reuben is a senior captain for Maryland, Noah was on
Pennsbury last year, now a freshman at UNC, and Isaac is a junior now
at Pennsbury
The Lunetta's. Andrew graduated from Needham High School last year
and is going to Lemoyne next year, playing for Syracuse (year off in
between), and his brother David is a sophmore now at Needham
The Allen's. John Allen is a sophomore at Davidson, and Tom Allen is
a senior at Needham High School
The Barker's. Both play for Umass, Dave is a senior and John is a
freshman. both went to Needham High School
The Robert's. Sam Bob and P-Bob. Both play for CUT, Sam is a senior
and Patrick is a freshman.
The Terry brothers, John and Michael. Twin seniors at Paideia high
school. They started the website youthultimate.com
Did the Kanner's go unmentioned, Sam at Carleton and Kayla formerly at
Delaware?
-Donnie
There are many siblings on Hopkins Ultimate --- the families of
Arenson, Alter, Kachelmacher, Curme, Baken/Schock, Peaslee, Fruchter
and Camp all come to mind. The older sibs now play for U of WI, U of
MN, OR U, & Carleton. We truly are a community.
Meyers twins, identical; Tim and Jeff (both Madcow)
June brothers; Mike and can't remember sorry (Florida)
Shorey siblings; James (Oberlin) and Ellie (skidmore next year)
Norden brothers; Jeremy (Whitman) and Justin (northwest school?)
Olson brothers; Robert and Danny (Jawbone)
Akerstrom siblings; Jared (skidmore) and Jenny (Macalister)
probably forgetting some.
Weston
1. Emily Brown: Williams LaWufa. senior. 5'6. blonde.
versus:
2. Maddie Brown: UVM Ruckus. frosh. 5'4. also blond (they are sisters)
This is their first chance to play each other since they both played
softball back in the old country. Get those WNE brackets ready, 'cause
this one's gonna be a real barn-burner. Can the outgoing Big Brownie
protect her turf from the girl who stole the last cookie ten years
ago? Can Little Brownie show her big sis that she'll dominate her just
like she did in laser tag in fifth grade? Stay tuned, folks, because
on April 12th, the SHOWDOWN occurs!
I meant Liz. Liz and Mike Houston. Wow I'm dumb.
Ben Owen was a key player on the UCSC college team that lost to ECU in
the finals of Nationals in 1995.
Dennis Karlinsky of UCSC Jam and Sockeye has younger brother named
Danny who plays for UCSC and Revolver.
Seth Blacher of UCSC/Tsunami/Double Happiness/Jam has a younger
brother named Todd who played for UCSB.
Ryan and Chris Stout are twins who played for Los Positas in the early
90s. Chris went on to play for Sick of it All. Ryan may be playing
in Oregon.
Scot Lipscombe of UCSC/Tsunami/Double Happiness has an older brother
named Dave played who for Stanford and for Double Happiness.
Tommy and Peter Barnow were stars for Sockeye in the mid 90s. Peter is
older.
Paul Pisacane of NYNY has a brother named Carl who played in the Bay
Area in the mid 90s on a team called Joe.
Dan Eisenberg played on Jam, his brother Louis plays for Revolver.
I love all these UCSC relationships. Especially the UCSC ones.
Hi Jacob.
Broc and Steve Adams.
NickMon and Richard Myers.
Apologies to Ben. Thanks for filling in the gap on that one!
> Seth Blacher of UCSC/Tsunami/Double Happiness/Jam has a younger

How could I possibly forget Todd and Seth?!? I played with Todd for 3
or 4 years.
> Scot Lipscombe of UCSC/Tsunami/Double Happiness has an older brother
> named Dave played who for Stanford and for Double Happiness.
Also holders of two of the very cool nicknames: Upper Lip (Dave) and
Lower Lip (Scot).
Karl's got a sister.
jason and amanda (96 nationals winner) taylor
yes, how could i forget!!!
Kevin Richardson: K Rich
David Richardson: D Rich
We play for North Texas. Although my brother is exceptionally better
than I am, we work very well together. He is one of the greatest deep
threats in college and has a sick underneath game as well. The only
thing that I bring to the table is throwing far.
There's my two cents,
D Rich
UNT #71
Names?
Shawn "airbounce" Robinson and his sister.....forget her name....
Their sister Emma plays a bit mroe recreationally.

Damnit Z,
You forgot Chris Barker (JMU -Capt) and JMU alum. "Madd-Angry Pants"
Matt Barker.
And Steve "Aquafresh" Atwell (JMU alum as well) and Robin "Colgate"
Atwell (JMU bitchmonkey).
mikus
Matty J!!!
while i love that you mentioned teddy, you forgot some teammates of
yours that i was talking about just the other day for some reason.
Rick and Bob DeMan. I know Bob won a boatload of titles, but didn't
Rick play NYNY one year too?
Josh Davidson and Ari Davidson are fraternal twins. Josh plays for
Minnesota and Ari plays for Whitewater
I played with both of them early 80s and at that time, Chris was the
better player, also had 4 or so inches on Motta. Motta was pretty
damn good though.
> Their sister Emma plays a bit mroe recreationally.
she can drink professionally though.
Do you mean the Burnims? Sam of Maryland and Kayla [formerly] of
Delaware?
Don't think this was mentioned yet:
the Burghardts, Liana formerly of Carleton and Karin formerly of
Delaware. They had a nice little clip on CSTV's coverage of 2006
College Nationals.
Loren, Aaron, Ellen and Annette. Legends of Zontal and Betty Ultimate.
The Amazing Huguenards...
Conor Ranahan (looks like a more innocent version of Pierce Brosnan,
circa Remington Steele days) plays for UCSC. His older brother Ian
(who looks like the bad guy in Titanic) played for Black Tide, now for
Revolver. I believe the Ranahan boys may be the only Black Irish
siblings on this thread.
Kansas:
Aaron, Loren, Annette, and Ellen Schieber
Purdue:
Tom and Joe Carter
Nate and Kata Hribar
Twin Cities:
Andrew and Mark Pisansky
jimmy
Hammonds - Chain
Newtons - Annie (Ozone) & Will (Ironmen)
More interesting would be father/son mother/daughter and vice
versa........whatdya got rsd???
owen - aussie open team
ken - aussie open team
warwick - aussie mixed team
yvonne - not sure if she's played worlds, but has played club for
years
then there's the dowles - matt and ant were on the aussie team at
world games 2005, and open team this year. brother nick was at junior
worlds in 06.
liddicoats - john on aussie open in 08, pete on aussie mixed at asia
pacific champs 07, doug plays club
gangemis, hills, barrs, meehans, cartledges, macnaughtons, pillars,
rogackis, macdonalds, murdochs, craigs, gavins, roxburghs....there's
been a ridiculous amount of siblings play nationals down here.
there'll be heaps missing from my list.
Yes, I did. I got my Amherst Sams mixed up. Sam Burnim (Maryland) and
Kayla Burnim (Delaware alum). My fault, guys.
-Donnie
holy shit how could I forget. Played with Bob Deman a lot more than
Rick back in the day but they are both really great players, Bob with
more titles as I think Rick played one year maybe two but I still play
against Rick Deman in Westchester Summer League. Our teams faced each
other for the WSL title two years ago and we won a squeaker by a
point.
surely there are others I'm forgetting.
Jerry and Mike McManus of New York City. I played with Mike on Kaboom
in 1986, Jerry blew his knee out that year or something and didn't see
much of him after that but heard he was incredible, as was MIke
MJ
Billy and Robin Stewart played together on Twisted - Robin plays at
UMass now and was jr worlds in 2006.
Jay Janin and Jacob Janin played together for the 2006 Oregon Section
champs Hippo. Jay was at Nationals in 2007 playing on a Masters team
and his sons Jacob and Eli were on Rhino. That's pretty impressive to
have siblings playing together at the highest level of competition and
their old man still kicking ass, he can still play elite club level
but chose to do Masters.
Those Bronx Irish Micks were always up to no good. Their little
brother Chris plays for Revolver (formerly Jam and Sick of it All),
played college at SUNY Buffalo and high school at Bronx Science.
how about the demans.......c'mon matty
dants?
Wait are we counting father son as well as sibling?
And yes, it is Will (Middlebury) and Ben Van Heuvelen (Potomac, DoG,
PoNY?) - both are excellent players
---how about Father/Mother/Daughter teammates....
Amy, Anakin and myself all played with the Warriors during Fall Ultimax in
Greenville a few months ago.
Anakin caught the 'Chumpionship' point for us...9th place vs Wilm Hoss.
The Beeks later played for Sub Zero and the Mowski bros played for
Flaming Moe.
- Joe's Brother
I know, I know.. Bob was so damn good I always forget about Rick.
Jeff Landesman tells a story about playing (a point? a scrimmage?)
against an entire line of the Clan McManus.
Mom, Dad and all 5 boys (I think Chris being the youngest at like
7ish?).
What's Chris? 30ish? So this would have been mid 80s?
Classic.
Chris is almost 35.
I read through this entire thread waiting to say Lou and Joe, Geo and
Jamie. Great, Lou beat me to it.
-alien
Paulo & Christian Nistri (GB Open)
Simon & David Wesley (both Sweden Open)
Mattbob (DOG) & Rich Hims (GB)
Rob & Stu Mitchell (GB Open)
Katie & Bex Forth (twins, both ex-GB Women's)
Spike & Jools Murray (GB Women's)
Rik & Steve Shipley (MMJ)
Mike & Sion Regan (both GB Juniors)
Dom, Barney, Bryony Hall (Discuits)
Ange & Linds Wilkinson (Leeds)
Ed & Felix Shardlow (Brighton)
plus those short twins who used to play for Germany I think it was,
chucking hammers to each other the whole time...
There are clearly hundreds - much like the abundance of couples in
Ultimate.
The Gibson brothers from Florida
Kurt is the older and a "Callahan frontrunner" for 2008 and then
there's Chris who is also pretty good.
All impact players who know their stuff
