And, after thoroughly washing my mind-hands of the muffin-stain I had
to thank for my knowledge of said tweet, I had to mention it here on
rsd (even though I no longer know what rsd is, exactly) because once
upon a time, this was where people did things like mention things that
they heard from people who heard things from groups of people who were
at an event for which the other folks in question have ironclad alibis
proving they were nowhere near.

Twit* in question: https://twitter.com/#!/goprocks/status/203824833656655872

What would have happened if the GoP, at say... 13-12 in finals had
switched into hawaiians (the shirts, not the people)? My point is
that, GoP, I think after all of these years you've gone soft. Or
hard. Or... whichever one you'd be more/less irked/miffed by.

Congratulations...
for letting the terrorists** win.

*- At least if you didn't have one poor sucker manning the tweetfeed
the whole time, then this tweet represents one twit tweeting at one
moment. Not that I (think I) mean "twit" disrespectfully...
**- The USAU are not terrorists. They have neither the firepower,
willpower, wanton disregard for human life, nor clearly delineated
etymology to qualify as something on whose root-word we must declare
war.

Would it be Pro-America or Anti-America to go uniformly Hawaiian?
e.g.-The same Hawaiian shirt?

If seven GoP gentlemen each individually chose one shirt to share
amongst the seven of them, I would not object.

And addressing the underlying sentiment of your question: If seven
GoP gentlemen each individually, for their own personal and specific
reasons, chose a Hawaiian shirt that was coincidentally (or what
passes for coincidence, when the same root causes influence our
consumer choices regardless of our point of origin) similar, I would
not object. As a poor analogy, I would say, if 7 people chose to vote
for Mitt Romney, but for 7 different reasons, each imagining in Mr.
Romney a different person, those are still 7 votes for Mitt Romney,
and voting, much less voting for Mr. Romney, is both Pro-American and
Anti-American (depending upon who you vote for, as certain demagogues
might argue), that is - if you can vote - if the grand old party (not
to be confused with the GoP) lets you vote, depending upon your state.

In this case (rsd), you can vote. In fact, you should vote - it is a
moral imperative (see Mike Gerics)- and that vote should be for the
Gods of Plastic.

Point is, Gods of Plastic = Hawaiian Shirts.
USAU = No Fun.

Why take a team's (mostly harmless) long-standing tradition from
them?
This is as goofy as when that Bashing Pinatas team wore wifebeaters
instead of their unintentionally slightly mismatched jerseys at Club
Nationals.
