Thoughts on who will be members of NexGen 2.0 this summer
(assuming there is one)? Also, assuming that Stubbs,
Bjorkland, Spiva, Zemel, etc. won't be because they aren't
in college anymore.

Assuming there will be a bus next year if I were NextGen I would
leverage the All-Region voting as a publicity tool. The crowds are
already going to nominating their peers and it is always good to use
existing infrastructure. Obviously they don't have to make it binding
but with some of the strong marketing instincts and video highlights
they will have this could be another solid win-win.

Heck you could even mimic the And1 Live Tour and give the people a
slate of 3 or 4 dudes to be the last one voted onto the bus. They
would have to make their case with highlight video and public promises
and then a week of voting and that is the last seat on the bus.

I'd like to see them grab a couple of the kids that make the US U-20
team, the whole tour for those folks might not be possible, but maybe
they could rotate a couple spots with like 2-4 dates in a given region
going to a couple players from that area.

Also a good idea and basically show up the day before the game and
have an open tryout to pick one guy to play in the game the next
night. Obviously hard with the bus schedule and breakdown but one can
always dream.

I'd definitely agree about Thorne and Degirolamo. Do you
think Lance, Freechild, Camp, Arenson, Johnson, Montague,
and Mickle will be asked to return? Or will NexGen assemble
an entirely new team to bring the spotlight to other
players?

I hope they book an entirely new team every year. It would be nice to
limit it to Juniors and Seniors (5th years included) so that
youngsters have something to look forward to and build towards.

Frank,

I like that idea. Perhaps keep 2-3 players from the previous
year as captains and cycle the rest?

Mitch Cihon from Ohio University/Madcow should be
considered. Dominant cutter at the college and club level.

I would agree with Julian, Jack, Will, and Elliott all being
on the next tour. They all have high-level club experience
and are some of the best players in the country at the
college level. Any other ideas?

I play for UCF, and I'd put a vote in for Michael Hickson
#11 and Mike Ogren #42. They could arguably be two of the
top 3 players on our team, assuming Mischa Freystaetter is
number 1 because he's almost impossible to guard. They are
both top defenders on our team, Hickson usually guards the
tallest player on the other line and Ogren will take the
next best player. They both had tons of lay-out D's and skys
at Warm-up against Carleton, Wisconsin, Pitt, and Georgia
Tech. Also they both have great hucks. If you even have a
chance to watch us, watch these two players. They're both on
our D-line.

here's our preview video for 2012, and some of their
highlights from last year...

if you don't want to watch the whole thing, hickson is at
1:50 and Ogren is at 3:56

Some Lone Star State boyz for ya~

Zach Riggins - North Texas, SR, 21 - Has the athleticism and
throws to play with any of those NG 1.0 boys. Goes good
with (NG1 comparison): Eric Johnson, Olie Gordon.

Will Driscoll - Texas, JR, 21 - Height and hands (and good
throws too) for the bus. Goes good with: Olie Gordon, Jimmy
Mickle

Chris Brooks - Texas, JR, 22 - Cuts, skies, hucks and breaks
compounded by some size and length. Goes good with: Simon
Montague, Cody Bjurkland.

Matt Bennett - ATM, SO - Cheeky throws, surprising
athleticism and hops. Goes good with: Matty Zemel, Nick
Lance.

Austin Walker - Texas State, FR, 18 - Self-proclaimed FOTY
with great athleticism, throws and most importantly vision.
Goes good with: George Stubbs, Nicky Spiva.

Hopefully NexGen Network will give Texas some time at Centex
and see for themselves. I didn't choose the exec producer
option so I can only suggest a Texas game at Stanford or
Centex, that would be great.

Also, the tryout for the team idea suggested by Greenough
was great. Keep 3-5 spots open for the squad in each place.
This would be advantageous NG to involve the local community
- more attendance at the games, maybe even some sponsorship
opportunities. It would also spotlight the insane players
that play for smaller, less known programs.

Think they should just have some form of tryouts before
picking the team...

hey greenough......arent you a usau company boy? if so, why would you
suggest that nexgen use regional events as an "assesment" platform yet
not encourage your precious usau to use that same environment to
gather the wants and needs assestments of the general membership (on
all the various issues that usau administrators seem completely
clueless about)? now if i'm off base and you arent a usau company boy
then disregard that "usau company boy" remark.

Tucker Levis, deep cutter on university of utah. Doesn't get noticed because he plays on a team that hasn't made it to nationals. Can go up against anyone.
