PADA Spring College Open tournament

[PADA College Outreach]

Attention Philadelphia-area college Open teams!

The Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) is planning on hosting a
college tournament for local open teams this coming March. The
tournament will probably be for 10-16 teams, possibly divided into A
and B divisions. We want to try and host as many Philadelphia area
teams as we can.

The three potential weekends for this tournament are March 6-7, March
20-21, and March 27-28. If this tournament sounds like something that
would interest either your A or B team, please let us know which dates
would work for you. Send emails to pada dot college dot outreach at
gmail dot com.

In case you are wondering... there will not be an official tournament
party, nor will there be a separate women's division for this
tournament. Interested women's teams should submit a bid for the
Philly Invite which is being held March 13-14.

I may be wrong about this, but the UPA is trying to create a
"regular season" for college ultimate. The regular season
would consist of a minimum of 10 sanctioned games, with
sactioned rosters, by the end of March.

Would this event be sanctioned? If so, earlier would be
better for the teams in this part of the country. Trying to
get 10 sanctioned games before the ground is fulled thawed
could prove difficult.

[PADA College Outreach]

The Philadelphia Area Disc Alliance (PADA) has set the date for the
tournament for local college open teams. The tournament will be held
on March 27-28 at the Edgely Ballfields in Philadelphia. There will
probably be room for 10-16 teams, possibly divided into A and B

divisions. We want to try and host as many Philadelphia area teams as

possible, but if there is room we will accept non-area teams as well.

Although the tournament fee has not been set, we encourage teams to
submit a bid expressing their interest. Please email pada dot college
dot outreach at gmail dot com if you would like to send an A team, B
team, or both.

UPDATE:

The PADA spring college open tournament (March 27-28) has changed its
location to the Walker Polo fields in Kennett Square, PA. These are
close to (but separate from) the Brandywine Polo fields used for PADA
Mosh and Bell Crack. PADA will provide food, water, and port-a-
potties for the tournament.

The tournament fee has been set at $250. We are hoping to host at
least 10 teams at this tournament, but have room for up to 16. Please
email pada dot college dot outreach at gmail dog com if you would like

to send an A team, B team, or both.

I can attest that those are some sweet fields! Super plush,
under-used polo fields. nice views of the local farms & less
mushroomy than the nearby Brandywine polo fields.

Just want to reiterate James' question. Is this tournament going to
have UPA sanctioning? If not I don't think that many teams would be
interested, mine included. Since the regular season is so short this
year I'm sure most teams out there wont be playing in tournaments
whose results won't count.

longer happening. We were unable to get enough interested
teams to cover the cost of the fields we had reserved. PADA
hopes to host UPA sanctioned college tournaments in the
future.
