Believe it or not...the team to beat these days seems to be Wake
Forest, running the show is Lucia Derks. This team, coached by vetern
Tammy Moose, has been on the rise for the past few year and finally
has put together the string of very impressive wins. Not enough can
be said about the leadership and athleticism of Lucia Derks. She is a
major threat on both sides of the disc, as anyone who has played
against her can attest. Offensively she distributes the disc with
patience, making smart decision to keep the disc in Wake's hands - and
thank god she is not afraid of the huck! On defense, Lucia is
unstoppable - even after recovering from a torn acl, she will
fearlessly challenge any disc in the air. But the real bottom line is
that she plays with heart and passion and intensity that has brought
her team together and allowed them to believe.
