You have three options that I know of for the future;
1. You can continue to post via Google Groups and keep on reporting the
loon's posts for being racist/violent/hateful/illegal. (Don't respond to
him, just report the loon's posts to GG admins).
2. If you continue to post through GG then there's a script available you
can install to block a poster(s) posts. (Search Goog. Possibly use
'Greasemonkey' as a term.)
3. Install a proper newsreader (Recommended). This will allow you to apply
all sorts of filters to any ng. F'rinstance... You can avoid seeing not
only any posts by DementedLoon, but any posts derivative of a DementedLoon
post.

1) No one ever accused you to have known me or supported me. Why are you so
