Cricket crowds here are now the ugliest in the world - and that is no
small statement considering some of the riotous behaviour from fans at
Indian grounds. In Bangalore, fishnets on ropes separate fans from the
players.

In Calcutta, even water bottles are banned because they are considered
a potentially lethal weapon. But unruly fans in Bangalore and Calcutta
aren't a patch on some of the idiots in this country.

In Brisbane, Indian fans were bashed and one bonehead Aussie fan wiped
his backside with the tourists' flag.

And don't forget the two naked morons, one of whom was only stopped by
a thundering shoulder charge from Andrew Symonds.

We have complained about Indian players' behaviour all summer but no
one would have blamed them if they walked off the Gabba and refused to
return.

Not only is woeful crowd behaviour a massive concern but so is the
inaction from security officials who reacted at a snail's pace.

At one stage, about 10 security guards were gathered near the Gabba
players entrance while only one was shadowing Harbhajan, who was
fielding in harm's way near the boundary.

Life bans and huge fines are already in place for pitch invaders and
Australian grounds have been repeatedly warned they could be stripped
of international status if trouble persists.

If there is any more trouble next summer, ICC officials should make
good on their threat and wipe some Australian grounds from the
international schedule

Well, let's not paint the whole country based on Brisbane.
I have been to Australia many times, stayed for months at
a time.

Brisbane & the rest of the state isn't like most other parts of
Australia. Somewhat like Reese Witherspoon says in "Sweet Home Alabama"
(about Alabama, not about Brisbane) - they should insist on a passport
to get from the rest of Australia to Brisbane & also the other way around.
It's almost as if you are in a different country.

I assume most of the Australian idiots in this group must be hailing
from Brisbane.

Here's a link describing racial taunts at MCG (directed towards
'brown' colored fans)

Months.. gosh, you must have the place nailed.

Yes, must be why people keep moving here and paying stupid prices for
real estate, thinking they are getting a bargain.

And it's a good thing you need one too, I imagine.

Don't know about too many people, but I do like people who make fools
of themselves.

1) The streaker was from Melbourne
"Ogilvie, born in Melbourne's Moonee Ponds but now living on
Brisbane's fringe, attracted only condemnation."
http://www.smh.com.au/news/cricket/streaker-fined/2008/03/05/1204402557045.html

2) The individual charged with assaulting the *Brisbane* taxi driver
was from Sydney.
No link, I can't link to it from here - if someone finds one, please
include, or correct me if I am incorrect.

You're funnier than Colin.

I dont mind if some muslims kidnap your players since I am
not a muslim.

You christian terrorists and muslim terrorists deserve each other.
Good riddance for the rest of the people like me.

Good catch, I missed that.

I swear someone's setting me up for something though. It can't be
possible that -every- time someone says something about something a
"Queenslander" did, I can prove it's actually someone from NSW or
Victoria. (except the man detained after assault, I'm not claiming
I've proved that -yet-, I must wait until the results are reported.)

IMO the abuse of Harbhajan is entirely deserved.

As was the abuse Symonds received from Harbhajan.
