David Warner, MotM, highest scorer in the game, on a challenging
pitch, carried his bat, etc. Previous experience: 114 T20s, 13 FC
games.

Phil Hughes. Buh-bye. Prevous experience: 17 T20s, 66 FC games.

Maybe he should play around 100 more T20s to improve his
technique. ;-)

This was as apples-to-apples a comparison one could possibly get. On
the same challenging pitch, against the same opposition, in the same
match, both opening the innings together. The T20 specialist
completely outplayed the test specialist.

-Samarth [ who has, since the Los Angeles Open of 2007, believed
Sehwag to have one of the shrewdest cricket brains around ].

Now the reason for England's rise to number one test team becomes
apparent: They are the 2T Champs.

A good T20 batsman can be a good Test batsman but it is not a given
and there are more chances that he may not do too well in Tests.
In Test cricket, what is required is mental strength and patience.
Warner must have been scoring well in Domestics in longer version of
the game.
There are other good T20 batsmen like Raina or Kieswetter who have not
done that well in Tests. Angelo Mathews is another player who started
off from T20 but is now a regular in Test squad. Gilly started off as
a ODI
player.

Cricket is cricket in the end, be it any format. All these illusions
of players
being fit for only one format of the game have been created by
armchair
experts. As long as you are able to adapt, you will do well in any
form of
the game.

Samarth is in kidding mode here. He is too smart a poster to be making
sweeping generalizations about Test and T20 players based on one data
point.

One data point is a luxury. There have been sweeping generalisations
made in RSC with all the data pointing in the opposite direction.

He is in self pimping mode here. By making it to the US T20 team and
quoting some random theory and example, he wants us to be believe he
is good enough for the India test team.

I guess I was fooled by randomness. Add a data point to another of
tendulkar.com's theories.

No Test team has ever scored 750 runs in their first innings and lost
the match

I'll be happy to have him kick Harbhajan's butt. But can he get under
