RCB batsman confesses before IO

Luke Pomersbach, the Australian cricketer and presently
in the Royal Challengers Bangalore RCB) team for the IPL-
5 has confessed to have touched the US national Zohal
Hameed during the wee hours of Friday at Maurya hotel.

Pomersbach's confession of the guilt builds up a case
against him under various sections of the Indian Penal
Code (IPC). He stated before the Investing Officer (IO)
that he was under the influence of alcohol and may have
inadvertently touched the victim. Police is now busy
tying the loose ends in the case. Pomersbach will be
questioned again after the statements of all the eye
witnesses is recorded, a senior police officer said.

However, this admission before the Investigating Officer
(IO) under Section 161 of the CrPC does not hold legal
sanctity as the accused can very well retract from his or
her statement before the police.

Senior police officials said that they have summoned KP
Appanna, the left arm spinner of RCB who has been seen in
the CCTV footage accompanying the Australian player.
Frail framed left arm spinner was the one who accompanied
his fellow team player Luke Pomersbach during the
unsavoury incident at Maurya hotel. Apanna is likely to
be questioned on Tuesday.

favorite now is "fana...@gmail.com" (note the extra "b"
and "gmail.com") to make it appear as if the posts are
from "fan...@aol.com", who has been a regular poster for
many years.
