One statement that is patently wrong is that the senior players made runs. In fact they didn't. Clarke made 400 (in his debut series), Martyn made 444, Katich made 276. All on their first test tours to India. The more experienced hands, Hayden 244, Gilchrist 218, and Langer 228, did worse. However, this is consistent with his observation that the guys who made runs in 1s and 2s scored big, while the boundary-hitters fared relatively worse.
But yes, there is an enormous amount of truth and wisdom to the rest of the points he makes.
