Astle posted his 50 off 67 balls in 81 minutes with six fours before he
was caught at first slip off schoolboy left-arm spinner Avidesh Samaroo. He
was the pick of the Board XI bowlers with three for 62.
Fast bowler Colin Stuart, who struck an early blow for the Board XI when
he induced opener Roger Twose to edge a catch to second slip in the sixth
over, took three for 43.
