Why I Don't Rate Hughes - Reason #5:

He's one of those odo batters who "play themselves in", excessively. ie He takes Fucken forever to get to 30. This is well and good if they stay in and accelerate later to a respectable SR, but when they get out for 29 off 61 balls it puts undue, and unfair pressure on those who follow. And from there it's only a very short step to; "Only Micheal Bevan showed any resistance with 51..."

By Gilly, but those twits are unbelievable. The point is not that Hughes -got- a low score, the point was the spin put on it.

How anyone could find their strawman fixation believable is entirely beyond me. It's not even worth the description of trolling, it's that bad.

Pop quiz.. Name the last time either of them responded to what was written with something relevent?

I know. They are yet to produce evidence of this big conspiracy against Queensland in Australian Cricket.

The closest was the 1985 Australian Rugby League tour of New Zealand to any form of conspiracies or bias against Queensland.

Originally it was NSW-VIC-SA next SA dropped off and WA and TAS have been on board even the ACT with Haddin and Lyon lol.

Steve O'Keefe is statistically the best spin bowler currently in Australian domestic cricket. Can't get any international game.

Queensland have a few supporters in key positions - Healy (Nine), Border (Fox Sports), Craddock (News Ltd), Bichel (NSP), Howard (CA).

or = all of them scored at least 20 runs, but don't let reality get in the
way of paranoia

He has the worst strike rate too (23 off 44) but funnily no-one mentioned
that.

Indeed.
What I look for in NSV fluff pieces is what they don't say. When Lucky Phil
was being pushed forward as an odo player all that the mouthpieces would
say was how Bradmanesque his scores were. So obviously a check on his SR
was in order. You'll never guess what I found...

thanks to 'Lucky' Phil Oz were able to draw the ODIs 2-2 with the Lankans,
it would have been 0-4 otherwise.

why would they, Oz won in a comfortable fashion.

How about the strike rate of Marsh, S (Rob's fav player) in the first T20 v
SL?

'Fraid you can't say that Ernie. Well not with a straight face anyway, as
you don't know how his replacement would've gone.

I'll be emailing CA soon to suggest some new categories for the next Awards night.

Most Different Injuries.
Most Distinct Injury Caused Unavailabilities.
Longest Continuous Period of Injury Caused Unavailability.
And of course... The Worst Genes From Father Award.

"I'd like to accept this award on behalf of Pat who, as you know, is in hospital atm and couldn't be here himself tonight..."

Caught the last half of Fox's Inside Cricket last night and was... errr "surprised" to hear Slimerland averring that this season's injury toll was less than last seasons'. I assume that he didn't count games missed because of "Informed Player Management" as injured. He's like that.

Yes.

Offsiders last week claimed that Pattinson was known to have carried an
injury into the Adelaide Test (you know, the one we would have won with 4
fit bowlers) but they decided to risk him.

Inadequate care, no responsibility. Where can I get a job like that?

These are very interesting and thought-provoking questions you raise Rob,
and I think we should let Warwick Capper answer them
