Now that Pak is 167 runs ahead (nett), it would behoove India to get
Pak out within a 200 runs (nett) target.

Anything above 200+ target, on a turning wicket, could give India the
typical 4th inning jitters, that haunts even the best of test teams..

The prospect of batting 4th in a test match is never exciting, except
when the target is with the 150 run range. Even 200 is pushing it..

Unless Pak can put up some gutsy performance, India should be able to
wrap it up today. Having to go to day 5 would tilt the balance in
favor Pakistan.

now thankfully (for India) SRT and Laxman have negotiated the
minefield and taken India within striking range... 32 runs needed with
7 wkts in hand. A couple of crisp fours in the initial couple of
overs should set the tone for getting the job done.

And that Mike Holmans fellow keeps saying Laxman
is not all that talented.

Yep, Laxman has a tremendous positive influence on the proceedings in
the middle of the ground as he sits padded up in the pavilion.

You are also right about the minefield; every one of the 100 balls
bowled has kept low.

And finally, agree entirely with your last line; the victory is not
assured unless we hit a couple of crisp fours in the in the initial
overs.

(Children, this what Yanni does to your brain!) :-) :-)
