some serious Aussie whipping from the Pommies (and even Kiwis) at the Olympics.

A decade ago pommies couldn't even compete and now they seem to thrash you in all sports. What happened?

They stopped picking Queenslanders.

They became more than one country.

Apparently, if Yorkshire were a country, they would still be ahead of Australia. Ouch!

Well, perhaps not so much as Australia, but rather Tom Slingsby. He's probably an RSC lurker.

There's far more important things to a country than national sporting
prowess. Like a reliable national electricity grid...

Are you sure you want India to achieve that? Think of it.. more internet connections...

irrelevant. I could be a martian and written the OP

Another neutral observation-- an unreliable electricity grid prepares the nation against single-point disasters. Remember, an efficient system also breaks / collapses efficiently.

Your language betrays you. Weasel.
And don't be libelous to Martians. There is no evidence whatsoever about them being idiots.

I'll remember it as a fine example of an oxymoron.

Ok, I didn't want to do this but you leave me no choice...
Can you tell me why India never participates in the Olympics?

If your intention is to a tell a good joke, I'm all ears, but if it is an attempt to piss me by taking a cheap shot at India, meh, you are just wasting your time

Ashley Old-Sock, a few minutes research has discovered something interesting.

So far Oz has won 4 golds (I think). These are;

1. Some womens swimming relay - Of the 4 members, 3 are born & bred Qlders Interestingly, two are from the same small town that's an hour's drive north of Briz. Startlingly, this same small town recently claimed the current PM & Treasurer as local juniors. (Nambour) The other relay member is, like the other 3, now a Bne resident, after her parents emigrated from Malawi when she was a nipper.

2. Tom Slingsby - Something in boats. Born & bred on the NSW Central Coast.

3. Anna Meares - Cycling. Qld born and bred.

4. Sally Pearson - Hurdler. Her mother fled Sinney for a better life and moved to Qlds Gold Coast when Sally was 8. Turned out well you'd have to say.

exactly my point --- a neutral observer appreciates good jokes (all ears, ha ha) and doesn't care (meh, wasting my time) if the intention is to evoke other responses.

you finally got it. This time it took only 3 posts
