Royal players, Ankeet Chavan, who is in police custody,
breaks down during interrogation and confesses to spot
fixing, report Rediff.com's Manu Shankar from Delhi. His
family continues to maintain that he is innocent.
Indian pacer S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila
and bookies were sent to police custody for five days by
a Delhi court for being quizzed in connection with the
IPL spot-fixing case.Rajasthan Royals player Ankeet
Chavan's residence wore a deserted look on Thursday
morning.
His parents refused to comment on his alleged role in the
spot-fixing scandal that hit the cash-rich Indian Premier
League on Wednesday.Ankeet's family is in a state of
shock.
When
rediff.com visited his house in Mumbai a few
mediapersons had gathered outside waiting for his
parents' reaction, but they refused to open the door.One
of his family members said, "It's not the right time to
speak. As of now we would not like to comment on
anything."
