spirit of the game. perhaps ponting, in his new avatar as 'elder
stateman' of the game can have a word with his young charges.

There was a time when there was some merit to the whole "Mental
Disintegration" thing and it actually worked. It may actually work
again when Australia is playing at the same level as the opposition.
In games like today's when the opposition is playing two notches above
Australia, it looks ridiculous. Its like a bunch of schoolboys getting
desperate to win against professionals and trying things like getting
in the way of the batsmen to make it happen. It was never going to
work anyways so why even try it and make yourself look bad?

they realize that this sort of behavior is encouraged and will be
rewarded by Ponting.

I’m really not a Mike Cameron fan; I like his 80s stuff but his work
90s and beyond I find all fluff and quite boring actually. I think I
broke up with a girlfriend over Titanic :-) But a lot of folks are
saying that he has gone back to his roots with Avatar. Plus 3D at
IMAX is always fun.

I really want to like Avatar, but based on the latest trailers it is
beginning to look like a bad reunion of Delgo and a 1950s pulp
science fiction novel. I'll be more than happy to be wrong.

Well the new trailer does look considerably better than the teaser
trailer they put out a couple of months ago. It looks good but I don't
see anything ground breaking about the graphics or the story line.

That's exactly what I mean. I have seen all the trailers. The graphics
are not groundbreaking. They may have been when he first thought of
this film in the early 90s*. Right now they don't look dramatically
better than the Final Fantasy work or, to be honest, any cut scene
from a decent video game. And, the story, by Cameron's own admission
is a synthesis of many classic science fiction ideas and hence, not
groundbreaking.
* I know I am being unfair. Even though he started thinking of the
project in the 90s, the work was all done recently and WETA has done
awesome work with pretty much everything they have done so far (except
Eragon, maybe). Like I said, I'll be glad to be wrong on this one.

I think they only started filming the thing in 2005 or something, so I
don't know why they couldn't have done a better job with the graphics.
But then again this movie is supposed to be watched at an IMAX and the
graphics might look more realistic then.
I think people like Spielberg and Ridley Scott(?) have said that this
film is going to push the boundaries of film making. So I'm going to
keep an open mind until I go see this in an IMAX.

O the Titanic thing reminds me of this: you wouldn't believe it, I
still haven't watched the movie....lol. During college days when the
movie came out, me and the gang were like "everybody's watching it, so

James Cameron. I liked Terminator and Terminator 2, but I don't recall
seeing any of his other work. Titanic didn't hold much appeal for me, so I
avoided it like the plague.

I'd say the running techniques will need to be examined & rectified by the
coach so that the Indian batsmen stop running into the Aussie bowlers.

no, i am reporting what i saw. you are just shooting off, having
neither seen the episode, nor presumably ever run a tight single.
batsmen typically take the shortest path to the other side: zigzags,
meandering, a loop via midwicket/cover, attempts to jump over the
recalcitrant bowler, stopping and saying "excuse me, kind sir, may i
pass", etc are not recommended. your comments reveal no 'thinking',
original or otherwise, sorry to say.

batsman's way leaving hardly any time for the batsman to alter
direction. Have you even seen the incident?
