Chappal after having many of them thrown at his face ever since Sachin
silenced him is now slowly accepting his view of Sachin was misplaced.
But the ego still doesn't give way so easily. So he does the next best
thing: elevate the Apprentice to a higher level ;-) as frequently as
he possibly can. I won't be surprised if he comes out with an article
or a statement when Sachin retires that one of his greatest
achievements was he was responsible for the Apprentice....a kinda
backdoor apology you reckon?

The Indian manifestation of the flip-flop, the chappal, has even been
known to be deployed as a weapon, both as a truncheon and a missile,
although it is more commonly merely a threat. It is not unheard of for
people to whip off their chappals in the heat of an argument, in order
to make their aggravation more palpable to the other party. (Touching
the shoes or feet of another, in some Indian cultures, is a sign of
respect or submission).

Touching the feet is a sign of respect not of submission...at least I
am not aware of it being so. It is more of respect for elders and an
act of seeking their blessings. Submission...I am really not aware of
it being so. I know that an act of let;'s say 'licking the feet' or
rubbing the nose near the feet is a way of insulting the nose-rubber
or a way of the nose-rubber saying he 'submits' to the other. But
touching feet does not have that implication...it generally has a
positive connotation.

desperately to put
the master down. The junior Chappal tried to finish his career post
WC2007
failure, the senior Chappal got egg on his face trying to finish his

after the same event suggesting that he should retire. Now this is a
fresh
attempt at trying to undermine his confidence by equating his
duplicate
to Don since they know that their fav. Punter's career is going down
the drain
faster than a bullet and he that he will be never able to catch up
with the
master.
