From "The Old Batsman," by far the smartest and the wittiest of the
blogosphere's cricket contingent:

It reminded me of a game I played in many years ago, an away
match umpired by their man at both ends with one of our blokes
doing square leg. He was ancient. The bowler ran in, and I
pushed the ball back down the wicket to him.

"How was that?" he asked the umpire.

"What?" I said.

"Out" said the umpire.

"Unlucky mate," said first slip. "He always does that".

Oh does he, I thought, as I walked off...

Very funny! Thanks, Rodders.

On the subject of very funny, I parted ways with the girl of my dreams
yesterday. A former beauty queen and tennis star, she found my bizarre
sense of humour too much to take. I didn't actually say that her
step-father was a homosexual, so I think she over-reacted somewhat. It was
a toss-up between her step-father and her Chihuahua, and I unfortunately
jumped the wrong way...

Missed the last episode of season thirteen, alas. Worth downloading?

"Pee" is a very good episode, with Kyle repeatedly being the "victim". It's
about pee levels in a pool exceeding the acceptable threshhold and causing a
2012-style catastrophe. Probably 2nd place behind "Dead Celebrities" in the
last half of the season.

You too Rodders. I hope yours, like mine, was mostly wonderful.

Oh dear. Was that really the last one? (I ask because I've already
had the pleasure.)

Yes. Rather a second-rate season all told, though.

Oh, it was. Mostly.
