I wish the average fan could hear some of the language spoken in the
corners in very hotly contested bouts!!!
DCI
OK DC, you lost me on that one. What is an *average* fan???

Dennis, the average fan is one - my opinion - who buys the tickets
that gets him or her as close as the 12th row seats, watches bouts on
television that are not PPV, follows the sport in a casual way so as
not to be preocupied at the sake of the family, kids and friends.
Could you give us your definition, Big Guy?
This might be a good subject for a thread: The average fan of boxing.
DCI
OK, you're getting deep and it's early in the morning. Very early actually.
I honestly can't answer your question because I asked you first. An average
fan is one who can't go on high speed full time so it's sorta on low for most
of the year I suppose. And Big Guy, that would be Butterbean wouldn't it?
You are correct though, this might be a good subject for a thread just to
figure out what an average boxing fan is. I remember the days when everyone
followed the sport and now many of my friends just don't seem to have the
interest in it. There are still some who come over faithfully for the PPV
events because I pay for them but what the heck, I was going to get them
anyway.
The gears are turning and 'tis time for bed...

Dennis, "Big Guy" is not my Main Man Eric "Butterbean" Esch."
Butterbean is Huge Guy! ;D
DCI
My definition of an "average" fan is the guy who only knows a
few fighter's names, mostly in the HW division, sits in whatever seats
he can afford, yells such coaching gems as, "c'mon, Red (Corner), wipe
him out," doesn't know a whole lot about the sport (art and
technique), usually is out drinking with the boys and talks about Mike
Tyson as if they were friends. Basically doesn't have a clue.
