Seems as if every scene in this presentation shows the life of a man who is a loser. Is that the real story?

Cheapo movie but it accurately depicted the injustice Sonny suffered his whole life.

Sugar, Sonny was controlled by the east coast mob. He didn't have a chance at anything beyond their control.

He is said to have had 24 siblings, received countless beatings from his
father, apparently having no formal education. There was no middle
class life, no consortium to bankroll his nascent
career, no Allah (or JC) on his side.

Mob was only choice.Someone said: 'Sonny was born dead'.
True, biggie-true.

Your writing of the excuses does not fit well as an anecdote for his life. Millions of other have overcome greater odds and carried on to exemplary lives. He is a good example of a bad situation.

Have great admiration for your comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of Boxing, DCI. Most of us are not in same category but as regards Sonny Liston, we'll have to conclude our discussion at "..this time and place.."

Sonny was dealt a bad hand at birth. And he was also blessed with
remarkable skills. He got some good breaks, he made some bad choices,
but despite that he rose to much greater heights than 99% of the
people in his situation could dream of. He was a tragic figure.
